This is one of the most excellent, intricate props I've seen, and I'm totally amazed that Taruru offers this for free. I'd love to use this with the Millennium Kids for some excellent renders. I do have a few questions, and maybe someone could help? The readme file is only in Japanese, and unfortunately I am unable to read it. I just don't know how to use this set, and how to set up the textures, etc. When the basic classroom is loaded, Poser asks for Silver Relect.jpg, which is not included. Does anyone know where to find this? Many parts come with this set, and I can't figure how to use them. Again, this is an excellent set, and I'm very thankful it's offered for free. I could use some help figuring how to setup textures and using the parts. Thanks. Ron ![Message671414.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671414.jpg)

Poser is looking for the texture "Silver Reflect.jpg" in your RuntimeReflection Maps folder. Load one of the PICT files from that folder into Photoshop and resave it as a JPEG with the appropriate name.

And it is great, isn't it? Looks just like the classrooms in the Tenchi and Nuku Nuku cartoons.

Well, Silver Relect is probably a Silver reflection map-- I'd try the standard one from Poser. I had the same spelling in either a Taruru or a Zippo download. Those jpgs look like textures, if uv means they have been uvmapped. have you tried them as textures? Only thing I can suggest is work with one thing at a time and if it works add to it. Just looking at the Window, I know I could use that. And I don't want to do schoolrooms. I'm constantly amazed at the singular high quality of the Japanese Posers and modelers who offer their products freely. Mascara was mentioned as a master of props-- he does very good guns-- there are a considerable number of Masters of textures and models in Japan. Batlabs has some of the most innovative clothing I've ever seen except for Miss Rubio's. I think we should be grateful they are an international treasure, I guess. Emily Thank you, Ron, for letting us know about the complexity and fine quality of this set. I've seen it several times but never considered it enough to look deeper.

I renamed the silver reflection file, and moved it to the classroom texture folder. Now I get a "file can't be found" message, and no clue about the identity of the name of the file... The classroom does load faster than before. (It used to hang for a long time.) My confusion now is how to assign the textures. Some of the items/parts don't have textures with the same names. I created a little composite screenshot to illustrate. So now I need to figure how to make it all come together. I've had this classroom set for several months, and kept forgetting about it. Then someone here at Renderosity mentioned it and I downloaded it again! If we can figure this out, I'd be happy to offer a MAT Pose file for the classroom. Does Taruru speak English? Does he mind this kind of thing? Ron

SilverRefl.pict ? could it be a spelling error? Message671424.jpg Oh well

Grammer ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 7:18 AM

silverRefl.pict refers to the silver reflection map included in Poser - pict is for Mac pict format. You can not read it probably because Windows cuts the pict to pic. In cases like this it can be good to have a monochrome texture map (whatever colour you can identify easily ) at hand and load this instead, then you can figure out where the missing map belongs. Hmmmm...spurred my interest Ron, so I tried to find this prop but was unsuccessful. There is an apartment prop but no classroom.

I don't know if this will help but you could go to the link attached here and copy the readme txt into the box and ask that it be translated from Japanese to English.

HTH!

Ron, you can't just rename it, you have to open it in Photoshop or any other image editing programm and have to resave it as jpg. I once had the same problem and got this error message too. Just resave and it will work.

Gosh, I can't seem to figure out where I got that classroom. It seems it was at one of the more popular Japanese sites, or from a link at one of those sites. I did a search for Taruru, and couldn't seem to find it. The readme file won't help because it's in Japanese!

Here's the link to the site for the classroom http://www.jet.ne.jp/~m-jacky/frame.htm Click over to the downloads and and go to the bottom of the first page and "Click" next page It's in the middle of the second page. Crash

I don't remember when I DL'ed mine but it's been a while and it uses silverRefl.jpg (not pict) which is in the standard ones I think. Maybe he changed the file at some point. Everything loads in fine as is, even the camera which is nice. The textures come up in the appropriate places automatically. Load the classroom base then the front wall, then the corridor "rouka set". There are morphs to pull down the projection screen, open the curtain, and you can rotate the left door to open it out into the corridor where you can see the syoukaki (fire extinguisher. You can now put in student desk and chair(s) and the "rika chair and desk" (lab table). Add students (Two Sword, I think has great Japanese schoolgirl uniforms)and you're ready to educate or create naughty anime school tales as you wish. I think it should work fine added in any order though. The default lights seem to be too dark when you render and unfortunately I suck at interior lighting (exterior too for that matter). Two very quick and dirty pics.

I think he did change the classroom. I don't have any cameras in the version I recently downloaded. Now you got me going. I need to go through my old Poser CD's and find the original one I downloaded. Maybe the other stuff, including the cameras are there. I don't find that silverRefl.jpg in either Poser or Poser Pro. Thanks for the tips on the curtain, screen etc!!! Ron

Oh hell folks, shouldn't do this on too little sleep. Ron, ignore my bastardized image and instructions. I couldn't find the science room and went back to download it. Arghh! It's named classroom 2. I was combining both props. Tex's should still work fine. You have: Note: rotate the camera to see the front of the room. 1. The Classroom Basic Prop - room, blackboard, teacher's desk and clock. Use the wooden desk and chair with this. 2. Frontwall 2 - this is to make the science room. To use it, load the Classroom Basic prop then click on the blackboard (or select frontwall 1 from the prop list) and delete it. Click on and delete the teacher's desk also. Now load the prop named frontwall 2. This loads in a different blackboard, a different teacher's desk and the projection screen. Use the "Rika" desk (science lab table) prop with this layout. The new blackboard covers half the clock so you'll have to move it or just delete it. All simple when you look at what you're doing, though I maintain he could have named the files a little better :-) My versions are (only English in the readme's): ClassroomProp = Rev1.0.0.1b - 2001.9.16 ClassroomProp2 = Rev1.0.0.0a - 2001.9.23 BTW there's not actually a camera file included. What I really meant is that the prop loads with the camera inside the room by default. Unlike some I've seen where I have to pan and dolly for an hour to get inside and get my bearings. Now go forth and render schoolgirls. Decided not to do the corridor pic - not much to look at and it takes forever to upload for a poor 56ker.

I put together a scene featuring Vicky as "Ms Crabtree, the teacher." I may need to fiddle with the classroom again to get it right, according to the above instructions. You can see the larger version of this render in my Gallery, hint hint hint. If all goes well, I plan on doing a series of pictures with the Millennium Boys & Girls, and MS Crabtree.. It's been awhile since I did any good Millennium Girls renders! Ron ![Message671422.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671422.jpg)

If you want to see another use of this classroom, I used it in one of my gallery pics.. "The New Sub".

ronknights ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 3:02 PM

Wow, now I'd stay after school late for that one. I vaguely remember someone else did a rather "naughty" picture of a teacher standing, "partially clothed," on top of her desk.. something like that. Boy that one stayed in my memory, and I was tempted to create a similar render as my first. I used some restraint!

3ddave44 ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 3:40 PM

Miss Crabtree's a bit of a giant in this classroom pic. Perhaps she should be called Miss Redwoodtree... : ) But I wonder if the scale of the classroom prop is too small - can't imagine that Vic was scaled up and as it's likely she wasn't then she's definitely too large for the default prop.

ronknights ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 4:15 PM

I was wondering about that. Maybe it's the camera angle? I likely won't have time to check it out for awhile. The wife is demanding more attention... gosh.

queri ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 4:30 PM

I think this was done for P4 standard [posette] so either scale the whole set up or scale Vickie down. Cool set. Emily

It's asking for silver reflect.jpg. No such file was included. I followed someone's recommendation of taking a pict file with a similar name, and resaving with PhotoShop. Then I renamed it. Now I get the "mysterious unknown file missing error." In other words, Poser won't tell me what file is missing, but recovers quickly. It's very likely this classroom set is scaled for P4 characters rather than Vicky and the Millennium Kids. That is frustrating since I have no idea how to rescale something without blowing it out of proportion! I would appreciate any guidance. And if I do rescale, how would I resave everything? Would a pz3 file be best? ![Message671422.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671422.jpg)

bikermouse ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 6:03 AM

Why did you have to convert it?

lmckenzie ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 1:54 PM

Ron, you should be able to take the silver reflect.jpg I sent you and place it in the reflection maps folder. At least it's asking for a jpg now, that's progress. You can scale up the Basic classroom prop but unfortunately, the scale on the wall, desk, etc. is locked so scaling isn't an option unless you edited the cr2 to unlock the dials on the other parts. Since I know you don't like to mess with that, I'd suggest just scaling down the figures. I don't know what to tell you about the clothes though. I think I saw a thread about conforming clothes and scaled figures but I'm not sure. Also try using Vicky2P4 she has Posette's body and is just a tad taller - closer in height than Vicky. If the kids look a bit big in comparison to her, hey she's just short, like Dr. Ruth :-). Perhaps someone can contact Taruru and get his permission to scale the prop to something more appropriate for Miss Crabtree.

Ron I don't know if the silverefl.pict IS the right file but I downloaded the classroom, without renaming or otherwise altering the silver file referenced it 8? times and it worked. the problem you are having is that the pr2? file references the texture 8 or 9 times and asks where the silver file is each time. Bikermouse, having some degree of patience, found this out by looking at the main prop file and counting the number of references, then going through the procedure the required 8-9 times. lmckenzie ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 8:56 PM

Yes, the silver reflection map is used on a pipe and various other places. I just don't know where people are getting a reference to a pict file. My files are dated 9/16/2001 (classroom.zip) and 9/23/2001 (classroom2.zip) and they use a jpg reflection map. That, I already had in my ref maps folder. Now whether it came with Poser or somewhere else, I don't know. Various people have included so many variations on those files in downloads, I have at least 3 variously named silvers and ditto for gold, plus 3 or 4 chromes. As long as you have something close, a quick run with a search and replace utility should get the props using whatever you have. BTW, I found out how to scale the desk, etc. While scanning the cr2, I saw the word "Lock" and a light came on. Duh, select the object then go to the menu object and uncheck lock actor.
