Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
You can fake that sort of effect with a very dense mesh and a number of magnets. PhilC has demonstrated this technique on occasion:

you can fake it with bryce :) import obj - do a depth render - use render to create lattice- export lattice to poser um you can do the same with poser and UVpro I think (theoretical) Do a render w/white obj on black with black shadows and depth cueing. Use in uvpro as a distortion map on a flat plane (Steve covers distortion on his site)
This probably isn't the effect you're after, but if you wanted to more tightly "shrinkwrap" an object, you could put the same texture on the figure and sheet, then lower the sheet part way through the figure, using magnets to deform the edges of the sheet a bit. At the right point, replace the uncovered object for the covered one by scaling them over one frame respectively from 100% to 0% and the reverse. Could work from the right camera angle - Elisa/gryffnn
Re: Lyrra's response, the best way to get a depth render in Poser is to turn off all the lights, set the background colour to white and enable depth queuing (CTRL-D). The image needs to be inverted and Bryce (or similar) needs to be used to create the lattice, but this is a lot easier than exporting the model, and quicker than rendering in Bryce. This would, on the whole, be a great technique for depth renders and adding depth of field in Poser, but, unfortunatly, the depth queue function has some annoying bugs that render it unusable in some circumstances.

I have a concept in mind for a scene but I don't know how or if it can be done in poser... I want to know if and how you can make an FX to simulate a sheet of pliable and stretchable material (ie latex or plastic wrap)stretch over an object to appear as if it is conforming to the object. kind of like a bed sheet loosly laying over a person on a bed, wher you can see the form of the body. PEASE.... can anybody help me with a tutorial or instructions on what I need to do. Thanks
