well here is a picture of interface design of the site,eyeball designs. i want to know what texture did they applied to it? have got any ideas? and secondly there is the picture i made and tried to give it sandstone texture. if anyone know how to give texture like the one in eyeball interface design? help.

have you tried the "texturizer" filter (Filter --> Texture --> Texturizer) and select the Sandstone preset?? If this does not give you the graininess you want, try adding "noise" to a gray layer and select Gaussian and check the Monochromatic checkbox. Adjust the amount (%) of noise in the slider before applying the filter... just an idea, :) retrocity

Lighting Effects might have been used with an alpha channel filled with noise and some bevelling as well. You can get very nice results with that. If someone wants some information on that, just shout.

Good idea Hoof, maybe run the "clouds" filter on another layer and lower the opacity to give it a "mottled" look...
