Guys, this is where my lack of a TV for most of the past 30 years is going to be a liability. Oh, well. An analogy: "Bonanza" was a SERIES which went on forever. If SAMS was doing their house, they would model such clues as a ponderosa pine, a small "hoss", a cart for cartwright, and maybe something for the Little Joe character in the Market here. We'd look at the tree, the cart, the pony which doesn't come near high enough and the cart and the tree and... and scratch our pointy heads until the theme music came on. (Legume does that in html, right in the middle of a thread, too.) So, if my guess is correct, we need to think about long-running TV programs with a major architectural piece in the background and places/situations/names with punning potential. We need a list of titles. We also need to take each of these models and write down all of the synonyms and uses for them, with emphasis upon the actual file names... but also a wariness for red herrings. Carolly
Pork? Bleahh!!! Beef, maybe ....
Haven't you heard? Man is the "other white meat."
(Just kidding. Honest. It's a joke. If you were a dragon, you'd be laughing your scaly arse off now. It's really popular among us carnivores. Like the way you say that everything tastes like chicken.)
I visited that website some time ago, while hunting for farmhouse blueprints. Completely unrelated to the contest.
As for the contest, I've been remembering a number of old shows, including Lassie, The Waltons, and Petticoat Junction (of which Green Acres was a spinoff).
Beverley Hillbillies? Hmm... I would think that a rifle and an oilcan would feature as props (if I remember the song correctly). It is probably something as long-lived as "I Love Lucy" or "The Honeymooners" but with a distinctive setting. Something which got exported to the world as Americana at its corniest. (So, don't worry Pam, you won't have to be embarrassed by it.) "Green Acres" is a possibility, but I'm dubious. Doesn't the name Clyde ring any bells? There are also soap operas (General Hospital), cop shows (Hawaii 5-O) and staged shows such as the Nashville Opr'y. It isn't Star Trek (props would have included a wee kirk i' the glen, some bones, and a scotty). Series could include the World Series, but that just doesn't fit at all. Hmm... did they do anything with Nancy Drew? Maybe MYSTERY SERIES is the catch of the day, but disguised with red paint? Perry Mason... who else? Sharon, you are doing a wonderful job with this! Besides, it is good to twist my brain around a real puzzle. Carolly
Sharen: Just what I need to take out the trash, which is filled with all my inferences so far. I'm soooo confused. There was an old english series where the boss said "you're all doing very well" and then there was "Get Smart". props for "Get Smart?" nah couldn't be . . . quixote: "Way Doggies", but how do you explain the milk box? - Thanks again Sharon, bikermouse.
hauksdottir, that was "Clem Kadiddlehoppeer". (I know you don't watch TV. but I'm sure that was Clem. Honest.) quixote: Well I'll ba a crawdad in a cement pond. Let's call us up ol' Earl Scruggs and get us to doin a hootinanny. naw, I think that's wishful thinking. I'm beginning to think it's a word puzzle. you know shack + keel = Shakeel(o'neil). that sort of thing.
bikermouse: WoooooooP deeddoo!!! Now you got me 's nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking-chairs!!! Elly May....OH Elly May!!! We'se having us a hootinanny.... What was the question? OK; Trash; jugs; shack; and tools: Goto be Sex in the City. Yikes. It's just great to have this thread to fall back on this week-end. Thanks Sharen. Have a good week. And BTW Happy 135th birth day Canada. Q

S Mallarmé
As part of the festivities here this afternoon, there was a hot air balloon festival. For the first time in my life I saw a pink elephant floating across my window from right to left. I will never touch that stuff again. Q Oh! what the heck...CHEERS!!!
