Not to worry, this will have a stated main clue and I bet it takes only a few minutes to guess after everyone puts all the pieces plus the clue together...Sharen

Oooooh Sharen, the mystery continues!!...But what a superb model!! :-) Dave :-)

Irish ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2002 at 10:12 AM

Great model! And the mystery was already pretty deep...now it's deeper than a mud pit located in the midst of quicksand. :) Now where the heck is my Sherlock Holmes cape.... :)

I seem to have missed one of the 4. There are the gardening tools, the milk box, and now the garbage can. What was the other, or do the garden tools count as 2? I have an idea what the series is but think I am missing a clue. Lovely work.

The shack is the other model :)

my guess would be it's some kind of existentialist theme, as in "waiting for godot" ![Message671422.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671422.jpg)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2002 at 10:13 PM

Guys, this is where my lack of a TV for most of the past 30 years is going to be a liability. Oh, well. An analogy: "Bonanza" was a SERIES which went on forever. If SAMS was doing their house, they would model such clues as a ponderosa pine, a small "hoss", a cart for cartwright, and maybe something for the Little Joe character in the Market here. We'd look at the tree, the cart, the pony which doesn't come near high enough and the cart and the tree and... and scratch our pointy heads until the theme music came on. (Legume does that in html, right in the middle of a thread, too.) So, if my guess is correct, we need to think about long-running TV programs with a major architectural piece in the background and places/situations/names with punning potential. We need a list of titles. We also need to take each of these models and write down all of the synonyms and uses for them, with emphasis upon the actual file names... but also a wariness for red herrings. Carolly

Crescent ( ) posted Sat, 29 June 2002 at 11:06 PM

I don't know why, but Green Acres came to mind. There's a web site devoted to Green Acres, including pictures of a small scale replica of the town from the show. That truly frightened me ...

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 12:06 AM

Oh, you've been to that website also?

Crescent ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 12:36 AM

Little Dragon, I went there only because I was trying to see if there was any clues that would definitely point to Green Acres as the mystery series. I promise you - that was the only reason I've ever been there. I trust that you went there looking for good recipes for pork.

neurocyber ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 12:52 AM

Green Acres? Hmmm I don't watch the tv but there was a show with Andy Grifith and Ron Howard.......

neurocyber ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 12:54 AM

Can ya here the theme now...Andy is whistling it as the show opens... I got my fishing pole how about you? :)

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 1:17 AM

Pork? Bleahh!!! Beef, maybe ....

Haven't you heard? Man is the "other white meat."

(Just kidding. Honest. It's a joke. If you were a dragon, you'd be laughing your scaly arse off now. It's really popular among us carnivores. Like the way you say that everything tastes like chicken.)

I visited that website some time ago, while hunting for farmhouse blueprints. Completely unrelated to the contest.

As for the contest, I've been remembering a number of old shows, including Lassie, The Waltons, and Petticoat Junction (of which Green Acres was a spinoff).

chohole ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 2:18 AM

I guess we are going to be talking US series here, which kind of stymies all us non-US people, even if (as Carolly said) I did have a TV.

The Beverly Hillbillies. Don't ask me why. Hey! With all the ebots I've been getting that can is certainly going to be very useful. Thanks, Q

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 5:04 AM

Beverley Hillbillies? Hmm... I would think that a rifle and an oilcan would feature as props (if I remember the song correctly). It is probably something as long-lived as "I Love Lucy" or "The Honeymooners" but with a distinctive setting. Something which got exported to the world as Americana at its corniest. (So, don't worry Pam, you won't have to be embarrassed by it.) "Green Acres" is a possibility, but I'm dubious. Doesn't the name Clyde ring any bells? There are also soap operas (General Hospital), cop shows (Hawaii 5-O) and staged shows such as the Nashville Opr'y. It isn't Star Trek (props would have included a wee kirk i' the glen, some bones, and a scotty). Series could include the World Series, but that just doesn't fit at all. Hmm... did they do anything with Nancy Drew? Maybe MYSTERY SERIES is the catch of the day, but disguised with red paint? Perry Mason... who else? Sharon, you are doing a wonderful job with this! Besides, it is good to twist my brain around a real puzzle. Carolly

chohole ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 5:59 AM

As I said with the last clue, the only way Clyde rings a bell is Clint Eastwoods sidekick, but then I'm British. This is fun though.

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 7:37 AM

Just thinking out loud, as it were. I'm going to be too busy this next week to keep up on this, but it might give someone else a leg up. Carolly

hmmm, Honeymooners...cor, lol stymied!

bikermouse ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 9:56 AM

Sharen: Just what I need to take out the trash, which is filled with all my inferences so far. I'm soooo confused. There was an old english series where the boss said "you're all doing very well" and then there was "Get Smart". props for "Get Smart?" nah couldn't be . . . quixote: "Way Doggies", but how do you explain the milk box? - Thanks again Sharon, bikermouse.

quixote ( ) posted Sun, 30 June 2002 at 10:01 AM

AH!AH! bikermouse, What makes you think that's milk? That's Granny's moonshine. or was that the Untouchables? Q

Maybe it IS Clyde Kadiddlehopper?!? The Red Skelton show went on forever. There was a hobo who used his vest as the secret ingrediant in mulligan stew, a drunk at the bar who had a beautiful voice, and a few other regular characters.

bikermouse ( ) posted Mon, 01 July 2002 at 6:18 AM

hauksdottir, that was "Clem Kadiddlehoppeer". (I know you don't watch TV. but I'm sure that was Clem. Honest.) quixote: Well I'll ba a crawdad in a cement pond. Let's call us up ol' Earl Scruggs and get us to doin a hootinanny. naw, I think that's wishful thinking. I'm beginning to think it's a word puzzle. you know shack + keel = Shakeel(o'neil). that sort of thing.

bikermouse: WoooooooP deeddoo!!! Now you got me 's nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking-chairs!!! Elly May....OH Elly May!!! We'se having us a hootinanny.... What was the question? OK; Trash; jugs; shack; and tools: Goto be Sex in the City. Yikes. It's just great to have this thread to fall back on this week-end. Thanks Sharen. Have a good week. As part of the festivities here this afternoon, there was a hot air balloon festival. For the first time in my life I saw a pink elephant floating across my window from right to left. I will never touch that stuff again. Q Oh! what the heck...CHEERS!!!

Pink elephant balloon? Gee... I'm glad that my Republican grandmother is dead. She collected pink elephants (I only aided and abetted), but a whole hot air balloon would have been difficult to manage. Wait... Brycetech has a pink elephant.... ... footsteps retreat down the corridor.

bikermouse ( ) posted Mon, 01 July 2002 at 7:44 PM

quixote: You mean you've seen one floating across your window from left to right before? Well, then - you can't stop now. (just don't drive anywhere or operate heavy machinery for a few days.)
