Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:11 am)
I'll do the Hulk as well. It is really easy to do the extra big hands and feet, something that is really difficult to do by "scaling" them in Poser. For all of you old skhool kids in the house who remember "The Ultimate Ogre", it took me hours, just to scale all of the fingers and adjust the joints. For now, Arnie it is! I just happen to have an old muscle mag with lots of Arnie pics. I'll Send you all screen captures as the work progresses. It will be done by tonight for sure. It should only take an hour or so. Konan
Ok, here is the side and back view as well. Before I start to add some musclear definition, please feel free post post some feedback. SciFiGuy, do you like the general shape of his pecs? Notice the large rib cage. I may also create a musclear bump map as well, to get the fine definition. Are there any good ones out there (so I don't have to bother), or shall I do one myself? I'll be taking about an hour and a half off right now (I gotta pick up the woman), so post you suggestions and I'll get back to it as soon as I get home. Konan Konan
Pecs are much better. :) A couple of nits I'll pick: The chest is too deep...the side view looks very unnatural. Not a big deal as long as there is a separate morph to control this, but it is a big deal if it is part of the general pec morph. I'm always backing off Musclebound Mike's chest which has the same issue. I think the shins could use more bulking to balance the legs better. Perhaps the forearms too (hard to tell in the default pose I think).
I have some photos of Arnie in front of me that show his rib cage being this big. He was a big fan of "dumbell pullovers", which he claimed made his ribcage grow by streching the cartilage.
Once I applied the full morph target in Poser, I realized that the forearms are a little skimpy. Oh well, I'll fix it in the next update. The reason why the lower body is disproportinately small, is because that is how Arnie was. Back then, they didn't pay too much atttention to the legs.
Konan
p.s. The file will be posted any minute now.
I'm downloading your demo now. I wonder why you have such a strange file format? Why not just have an exe file? I'm having a hard time understanding just how the program works. You really out to show some examples to give us the look and feel. If this program is as easy as it appears, I might want to see if I can scare up the money. It would be a great way to finally be able to easily create my own characters.

Ron, click on help on the main page of his site, then pick Extreme Morph, it will take you to the tutorials. Here's a link to the message that was posted the other day about the tutorials.Arleen
There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.

DragonLady, Please check the tutorials at http://innuendo.ev.ca/extreme_morph_3d_help.htm In particular, tutorial #3. It will show you how easy full body morphs are. Hey RonKnights, I am not sure that I understand exactly what you mean? It is an EXE file. Do you mean that the interface is notthe standard wimdows one? The interface is completely done in OpenGL, and hence it it operating system independent. I made it this way so it is Mac compatible. Check out the tutorials at the attached link. They are really easy to follow and should get you going in no time. Hey SimonWM, That require you to add geometry to the object, which would then destroy it's "morphability". In principle, it could be done if you used the result as "replacement geometry", insead of a morph target. In fact, the next update to the sofware will allow you to INCREASE the resolution (add new polygons and vertices to the surface) on parts of the mesh so you can add in details such as this. You must be looking at the old tutorials (for extreme Morph 3D 1.0). The new ones (near the top of the page) are completely illustarated. Since this confused you, I am going to move the XM3D 1.0 help page to another location.
To zoom, click on the Move / Zoom button, click on the view port and the RIGHT click and drag to zoom. You can right click on any interface element to get a complete description as to what it does.

Hey Simon, >> sounds great. hen can we expect to have this upgrade? In a while. I just release this one a few days ago. Give it about a month, depending how my work load is. Hey Dirk, Nice pic! I hope that you create lots of kool images with him (Don't forget to give me a plug in the credits ;) Konan
With MaxPose2 (or any Poser->something exporter), you should use the original images for the bump maps, instead of the BUM files. What Maximum Pose 2 does is, it look for an image file in the same folder as the BUM file, and with the same name, and simply uses that file instead. As soon as I get some time, I want to update MaxPose2, truePose and Natural Pose 2. The update will "simplify" things rather than adding new features. I am also considering new versions of these packages with new features. Konan
I am also considering new versions of these packages with new features.>> Sounds cool, you have the most amazing collection of utility programs. I keep waiting for a sale so I can get MaxPose 2 and Natural Pose 2 at once. I think I will be getting Extreme Morph 3D soon, that new feature you are planning on adding were one can add geometry to deform detailed stuff like I was asking is just what I would need.
Konan, this looks absolutely fantastic. I haven't been able to get my greedy little mitts on my fiance's iBook to play with the OSX demo, but you've pretty much sold an OS9 version when it's out. :) The tutorials look good too-- I found it easy to follow even without Extreme Morph in front of me. Thanks for the Keyboard Shortcuts listing! A .pdf of the whole shebang would be great. One comment: In the Tutorial number 3, 'Forword' page 2, the text "The OBJ files in the 'Geometries' folder if Poser...' should read 'The OBJ files in the 'Geometries' folder of Poser...' It was slightly confusing. ;) One question: The tutorial talks about morphing in the 'vertical' direction. 'Vertical' seems to be relative to the view (top, front, &c) to the view, not to the alignment of the model in absolute space (if you know what I mean). Is that right? Just curious... I mean, I'll figure it out eventually.
"To zoom, click on the Move / Zoom button, click on the view port and the RIGHT click and drag to zoom. You can right click on any interface element to get a complete description as to what it does." Personally I couldn't find any such tool. It'd be nice to have this stuff labelled. I remain confused. I certainly wouldn't consider buying the product until the confusion is eased or erased.

Here everyone, To demonstrate the Extreme power of my new program "Extreme Morph 3D 1.1", I am going do create a bodybuilder full body morph target for Daz 3D's Michael. Since there are many variation in body types, I thought that I'd as all of you for some input as to how he should look. Should he look like The old guys 1) Arnold 2) Steve Reeves 3) Reg Park 4) Frank Zane 5) Lou Ferrgino (The Hulk) etc. Or like one of the new guys (juiced up) Post your requests here, but do so quickly, cause I want to start this project quickly (perhaps this evening). If you can attach some pics that you found on the net,or scanned out of a muscle mag, feel free to post them here. In addition, I will do my best to not make it look like any of the existing body builder morphs. No sense re-inventing the wheel.
