I am finished reworking your headset object. I opened it with Ray Dream 5.5, renamed all the parts, then saved it. Then I opened it with UVMapper, and re-mapped the OBJ, saving both the model and the texture map. Before saving from UVMapper, I went to edit/settings and changed the output bitmap size to 1024X1024. I then opened the bitmap in Painter 6, added the text, and saved it as a JPG. While still in Painter, I did a quick paint job on the texture map and saved that. Then I imported the new OBJ into Poser, applied the new texture map, and here it is. You will need the new OBJ and the texture map for it to work. I am on a PC, and have the whole thing zipped. If you can use a ZIP file, I can upload it or e-mail it to you. Let me know how you want to do this.

Yes, yes, I love it! My e-mail is drmspinner@earthlink.net! Or just post it, I'm sure lots of people would love to have that! It's beautiful!

I'm sure that sharkey will be posting it. I am just helping out to get it to take a texture. I didn't make it, so I can't post it. He has posted several props and textures for his Moonshae and Cassandra elf characters, so I'm sure it won't be long before this is in the freestuff, too.

Huahh, SUPER Don't know that my prop can look so fine. Many, many thanks again to wyrwulf. If he send me the zip-file i upload this prop this evening (morning ?) to the free-stuff-section. THANKS A LOT TO WYRWULF from SHARKEY

I just e-mailed it to you, sharkey. This was an enjoyable learning experience for me. Soon I may get brave enough to build some props, too. What program did you use to make this prop?

robert.sharkey ( ) posted Tue, 29 February 2000 at 9:02 AM

I used 3D Studio Max 1.2 It's easy with it to build props. The only thing who is tricky is the small size of poser-objects and the correct placement of X-,Y- and Z-Axis for later use in poser. What do you think is the problem with my mapping-expirience, can it be the names.

Naming the parts would make it easier to keep track of what everything was. I opened your original prop in UVMapper. It loads, and there is an error message stating that there is out of range UV coordinate data, and asks if you want to correct it. Click the yes button. When the map opens, click Edit/Tile/By Group. Click the OK button. All the parts will show separately. Then you can Edit/Select/By Group each part individually and remap them. I Box mapped the HeadPiece and Planar Mapped the rest of the pieces. If you want the same texture on both sides of a part, don't split when you remap. You need to experiment with what type of mapping to use. Also, remember you need to save out the model and the texture map for it all to work. Also, to resize the texture map, you need to go to Edit/Settings.
