Subject: mapping question

So i've finally created my first poser model, and i need to created the mapping coridants. and i'd like it to possibly be compatible with several texture maps i already have for the p4nude man.. anyone know how to get this kind of mapping? namely for the head.

Are you looking for uvmapper? http://www.uvmapper.com/ look for the free version first. do you have metacreations poser 4? if so there's a program called painter 3d in it.(don't know about creative labs version 4). If you turn "show mesh" on, you can save the mesh for an imported model.

Good new, bad new. This is a tricky problem and not an easy one. UV Mapper has the ability to select and drap individual points. You are unfortuanately going to have to unwrap your mesh and line it up by hand. Merrilyn Ellison (D'Mentia) remapped Posette to fit Vicki maps using UVMapper. So it is doable, but not easily. UVMapper pro is a great upgrade from UVmapper but the process has to be don't by hand. For that the standard UV mapper does everything you need. SAve our uv's frequently since there are not any undo features.

I'd suggest pro if you can - I'm currently mapping the p4 boy & girl to take posette textures, and it's been a great help.

ahh i didnt know they did that stuff by hand, i thought there was some handy tool out there to do it. i have UVmapper. i didnt know there was a pro version..maybe i will take a look at that. thanks for the input all..

Well you can import a photo on to the map. there's a couple of tutorials on how to do that. (be careful with copyrights in that case. get a release from the person you photograph for the specific purpose you intend.) You can import the model into a modeling program. or you may want morph manager ? or morph 3d? http://www.innuendo.ev.ca/ - TJ
