humm... don't like this shot. as cat says the angle is perfect, but. there's everytime a BUT! =P ...hope you don't mind if i give some contructive critics, and anyway it's only my humble opinion. First, i don't like the expression, but this is a subjective reason... and maybe the crop is a bit too tight. the second reason is the hand. the hand is in an unfortunate position, she grab the chain too tight, seems unproportioned in contrast with the girl, and is parallel to the lens. i found that hand disturbing. the composition of the pic tends to go downside up, and so the hand should do.
Hi star!!!, it's been a bit. & cat, Thank you I'm going to be showing these to tomorrow, and maby I'll show her these post's cause I think that might psyke her up a bit. Artax, Wow Nice critique. I tend to agree with you, I think the hand is what bothered me the most. It's almost like if it should be at the bottom of the frame. but there is one thing I always try to do when I train models, and that is to let them do the posing. That was where her hand was when she sat down in the swing, She really didn't move it much either, so I hit the shutter. I have found tht if you discribe the pose and let the models acualy do it on there own, then they learn how to use there body language by doing other than being treated like a pupet. Most of the time it works great, but there are some little things that you will need too ajust as I should have in the arm. Also, I have all of the models I work with take corses in makeup, hair design, and basic taloring as well, so that they can be compleetly independent when they get taken by an agency. If you ever "Test" for an agency,(Shooting a portfolio, and train the models) or discover a model it's a good thing to have them do, it makes them more marketable.
Hi! - like the whole series of shots that you have done with this girl. Good work. I agree with Artax that the "grip" of the hand holding the chain is too tight, needs to be a little more "open". Also, from previous images, I noticed she tends to look down a little. Try getting her to raise her chin slightly. It may work, try it and see. (same with the hands, I note remarks earlier that she has "long" hands). From experience, the best way to pose long hands it to make sure they are holding, gripping or curled around something in a loose style. Nice work and I hope these comments help.....Cheers...Bidsy
Gsalas I like this one only one little distraction is the out of focus fence in the background, If you are sending them in to an agent I think your subject should be looking more towards the camera and not out of the frame. :O)
