Thanks--I'm just 45 minutes away from Mt. Mitchell, highest point east of Mississippi. Actually, I'm in the foothills and just a quick 1/2 hr. from Blue Ridge Parkway, altho' that one was shot near home with mts. in background.I'll look for more mt. shots. I have some on my pbase gallery site, but no recent ones. I was on the parkway Saturday but it was extremely hazy and nothing much attracted me (plus we were taking my mother for a drive--so not much time to wander around though I always have a camera with me LOL). Fall is coming--a beautiful time of year in the mts.
The top is a gear I guess--found a pile of them behind a building on one of my Sunday morning walkabouts/driveabouts. Just good abstract shapes/patterns.
Here's same 'gears' without the bg--the black frame 'melts' into the black bg--ah, well.

Thanks. BTW, if anyone ever wants a Photoshop action for framing or matting for web use, I'd be glad to do it. My actions are for the proportions of my D60 (3/2) but I can do actions for other proportions (my E10 is 4/3--more 'View' proportion). I normally do it manually for any I crop differently. Its possible but not great to do one action that will work for anything. You can also choose colors for mattes, frames as action progresses because I put a 'stop' in. I'm gradually converting my pbase galleries to a simple frame--and I just changed the style sheets for the backgrounds to cream instead of black-I think it is easier on the eyes, though I've always liked color against black. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
