I have been working a on a way to get large tattoos to cross the seems of the figures. Here is my first serious attempt with a technique that envolves streching the tattoo image to fit seems better. I know it is not perfect but it is better than the other stuff I have made. I would like your opinion and any recommendations. So, What do you Think?

Whoa...how did you do that? Remapping or what? It looks GOOD!!! (Well not the tattoo G it's too "transfer like" to me but the technique! WOW!)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I had that problem with uniform shoulder badges. I cured it by re-texturemapping the figure so that each arm on the texture map is one piece, vertical, split along its underside only.

wilddial, I've been looking at doing tats again over the last week or so - but lower on the arm. The one person who commented noticed the same thing. "too transfer like" to quote ernyoka. Also there is the problem of translating a flat surface to a nonflat one which I haven't yet tackled. It is hard to judge how well your method works without a referance to the original flat picture, but from what I see, Its ok. Also it is hard to judge how large the tatoo is going to look on the body - I noticed the same thing on yours that I noticed on mine - it's too large. Also Poser blends the colors between the bitmap and whatever color is used for the skin in materials and I think this adds to the "transfer-like appearance." If you are not around people with new tatoos you don't realize how "transfer-like" they can look when new. The "faded" look might appeal to most people as looking more natural. - TJ

Anthony, You should write a tutorial on how to do that. - TJ

I used a texture map annealing feature which is in my MAKEOBJ utility.

That is not a remapped vicki. I have been working a on trying to get a large tattoo across the seems for quite some time. Bikermouse, Thank you for comments they have helped. I will work on a way to make them a little warn in to combat the "tranfer" look. I like large colorful tattoos. So I work on large tattoos for poser. To each his own. Thank you all for your comments.
