When I click finish to close the window, a message error occur and said that Poser executable file has encontered a problem and needs to close. Well I can not open it since that. have you tried reinstalling?, the challenge & serials will be the same

soc_inter ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 12:49 PM

yes I tried it

c1rcle ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 12:53 PM

the last time I had that sort of error it was a virus, but I don't think that's what this is, how about changing the compatability settings to windows 98, see if that changes anything

soc_inter ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 12:56 PM

Before changing to windows 98, should I format my hard drive ?

c1rcle ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 12:59 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! all you need to do is right click on the poser exe file, choose properties, then choose the compatability tab & change that to windows 98

I tried it and the answer was : Initialisation error unsupported driver call. Does it mean that I can only install poser 5 on drive C because I installed it on the drive E

c1rcle ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 1:16 PM

that doesn't sound too healthy, try to install poser5 on the C drive if that doesn't work I'd fire off an email to the tech bods at Curious. you might need to repair XP, but try the install of poser first

I have Poser on my D drive and it registered just fine. Do you have a firewall app like Zone Alarm? Did you allow the Poser.exe through?

c1rcle ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 1:19 PM

damn I didn't think of that, so used to firing up the wall & ignoring it I forget it's there

soc_inter ( ) posted Thu, 12 September 2002 at 1:42 PM

No I don't have a firewall. I will try to reinstall poser on the C drive. Thanks a lot

XP has it's own built in firewall see if that is on.

You might want to make sure you haven't got NTFS compression on - if you do have that on in any other your drives it can cause issues with certain operation calls. I have had simular experience with certain games refusing to work on NTFS compressed drives... WiNC
