what's with poser textures and shaved pupic hair for females? there does not seem to be 1 texture with hair a normal female would have. not that i really give a crap, i was just wondering, because it always strikes me that it's like that

Well, er, why no hairy legs or armpits? I think it is partially an esthetic preference. A texture without pubic hair is also more flexible. You can use it as is, or use it with a pubic hair prop. Or, with P5, you could have simulated pubic hair....

Personally I prefer a texture without pubic hair, as I tend to add the pubic hair as a mesh - either real-hair-mesh or transmapped mesh. Joerg

There are plenty of textures with pubic hair. Most of them are a bit "trimmed" around the edges however, because the way the upper thigh blends with the hip can be pretty tricky. I agree that there is a dearth of really full bushes however. I'm not a real fan of shaved pubes myself, and the little Hitler-moustache/mohawk thing really bugs me.

Candidate reasons:- 1)It is easier to add hair to a texture than it is to remove it. 2)More people prefer it that way. 3)It is easier to make a texture without hair in the first place. I personally prefer a "no pubes" texture. However, it would be convenient for texture makers to give two versions, since people have different tastes.

One more reason: Hair on the map, going directly onto the model, doesn't look very good. You have to use a prop for it as Cage suggested for it to not look flat and just plain weird. A "shaved" texture allows for more flexbility, but I agree that offering both would be ideal.

Personal preferences aside, from a merchant's point of view, my most recent package (Carmen) has no hair on the map, but comes with a Prop to add it. As others have mentioned, this is to allow the greatest flexability in both coloring and style/cut, as well as giving it some 'depth'.

If it were because merchants were concerned about ease of use and it's easier to add hair or a prop than to remove hair, then we'd have more Vicky and mike textures that don't have eyebrow hair tattooed on their friggin' heads. :) Naw, it's the artists' personal tastes, nothing more. Phoenix

None of my characters have eyebrows pasted on the texture.. I've always used the Upper Eyebrow material for that (ie. added with a transmap). I stand by my statement ;).

This same question could be applied to porn -- every girl in every movie has shaved pubic hair (or so I'm told :). I miss the good ol' days of natural girls... but I know I'm in the minority here. On topic, StephyZZ has some great textures with full natural pubic glory :)

heheh wow, i didn't expect this many replies on this i was just wondering, now i've got a better idea i think the prop-adding would be the best because it does give you more options. alright, thanks for your posts people :) you've shed a bit of light on the shaved pubes preferences subject haha ;)

OK where are all these shaved textures? My complaint has always been the opposite, too many painted on pubes. I would like a few nice "razor stubble" textures though.
