Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 09 11:05 am)
The only real bug (at least I don't think it's me, but you never know) that I've noticed with P5 is similar to this one - the hair I've created has a tendency to zero itself when I save the project. If I exit Poser, start it up again, and reopen the project, the hair is back in place (unlike yours). This was hair I had created on a skullcap, so it's a prop like Cousin It.
Thanks for the tips. Ron, I knew to redo the dynamics after each pose, never thought to do it when reloading the file. And it's too late to try it cuz I'd already fixed it. And the ball has no scalp. But it was the scene I saved, not the hair. pzrite: I moved the camera all over the place, nothing changed. The only way I could fix it was to move the hair up with the Ytrans dial. It's strange, too, because the hair is a child of the ball. I thought it had to follow its parent, not the other way around. In any event, I animated it and it worked fine. It took 20 frames for the hair to stop moving at the end, though.

I saved Cousin It last night just as he was when I first posted him (see link). When I reloaded the file today, this is what it looked like (see pic). Now, believe it or not, Cousin It is just a ball prop with hair grown on it (it kills me to have to let that secret out). It appeared at first that the ball had dropped to the ground. But upon selecting the ball, its Ytrans dial was still set to 3.something. The glasses and hat are 3.something, too. So I tried to raise the ball; it wouldn't budge. Couldn't move it in any direction. So then I selected the hair and its dial was set at zero. I raised the hair and wa-la, it worked. And the ball went with it. Is that the way it's supposed to work? I didn't see that in the manual, but if it is, why didn't it do that when I first came out of the hair room? Another question, is everything with hair on it going to be pushed to the floor when you save it? And what about the X and Z locations? I just thought of these questions now, or Id'a checked that before I posted this.
