Here's the link to her previous postings...Maybe she's just trying to get Renderosity closed down... there's no nudity warning either. Wusemah made a comment on the image after mine - "Why does it matter what tool or technique she/he used. It is the finall result which truly is important." And I agree - but show the piece in the place it truely belongs... the "Other apps gallery" or the "Mixed Media" gallery... I'm not questioning the artistic capability of the artist (well maybe a little - with the head render comment) but questioning where the image is being displayed. Oh and before anyone else has a chance to say it (from the other thread): "But is it art?" :)
the one that really looks under age is the one entitled "Karen". The rest are iffy. LOLOL One in particular though, the one linked to in this thread is really violating the TOS though. There are other places to post this type of uh art. I have no problem with nudity and even visit Renderotica pretty often. Have even posted a few there. I think if Renderosity is going to have TOS then they should enforce them. As to what category they belong in that is a whole different thing. I won't even comment on that. How much postwork before they are considered mixed medium? Some images have a lot of postwork and I still consider great art and glad to have them in the Poser gallery such as Pickys work (which I love by the way) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=80175&Start=1&Sectionid=1&MostCommented=Yes I just think we have to be careful when we start asking the people here at Renderosity what is considered applicable to the Poser gallery.
I know this is going to annoy people here but that is not my intent. From time to time someone makes a posting criticising Poser figure renders as unrealistic. The immediate reaction is vehement denial backed up by myriad images and arguments to prove otherwise. But now people are complaining that an image cannot be a Poser render because it is too realistic?! Personally, I don't think realism is the be all and end all of art. Nonetheless I don't think we can have it both ways, can we? I do understand that this is not the point of this thread. But I also wonder if it is the point of the images posted. Hoisted by our own petard? - Jack
No, the point of the images posted was to troll. They were all very crudely done pastichiery (on the Fake Detective's standards, I'd have given the paste jobs at best C-). What is worse is that they all used copyrighted images without even bothering to credit the original sources. The amusing part is that they had no emotional impact upon me--except to incite me to roll my eyes at the crudeness of execution. They were just retouched soft-core porn, without the least bit of artistic impact. Quite amusing, given the prissy whining of their source about "art".
No, the point of the images posted was to troll. You may well be right. I was just, in my idiosyncratic way, speculating about alternative motives. I haven't even seen the images in question. As for whether they are "art"- ever since we decided that anything we choose to call "art" is art the question has lost all meaning to me. - Jack
Why is it there are so many people who seem to think they should be absolutely exempt from any and all rules, regulations, etc? I've seen it time and time and time and time and time and time again - people posting stuff that is PLAINLY in violation of the TOS they agreed to when signing on as a member, and then SCREAMING bloody murder when they reap the well-deserved reaction to their misdeed. If you don't like the TOS, post someplace else. There are lots of places to go. If you want to post sexually expressive images, go to Renderotica - that's what it's there for. That's where I post the things I make that I know would violate the TOS here. I have absolutely NO problem with that arrangement - there's no reason why anybody else should. I get really tired of pathetic jerks whining "but I should be exempt from the rules that apply to everybody else". WHAT BULLSHIT! Some people need to grow the fuck up!!
What would a person do if they wanted attention from this community and wanted to prove a point about having graphics here without artistic merit? Let's say this person has an agenda and has decided to make the community confirm that person's own opinion. Let's see. What would I do? Post hurtful and argumentative messages and lackluster art guaranteed to get a lot of hits because it features nudity. It's a person who knows how to market themselves and their ideas, and has no interest in the feelings of others or respecting other people's opinions. Ignoring the person would have been a good idea, but that wasn't going to happen. Pride in work was hurt. People's dignity was insulted. So the community reacts predictably. And the person is smug. And sucessful In fact too much attention has been paid to this one person, and not enough attention is paid to the fact that something amazing happens here...in a spirit of cooperation and creativity, people combine their talents to create amazing graphics. Some graphics here are the work of one person and one person alone, but what is truly striking to me is how many are created through the process, and how many people honor each other by giving credit for each other's contribution. At least I think it is amazing. And the person who doesn't appreciate how amazing it is probably isn't someone I have any respect for. And, yeah, that makes me a dork. I don't care.

Remember last week - and the person who posted the inflammatory comment "Does anyone know of any sites where people create art with Poser..."? (Her words not mine - I'll post the thread link in a seperate post) Well it seems she's been busy in the Poser Gallery posting images pertaining to be mixed-Poser renders but if you look closely - they're either manipulated photos of real models done in PhotoShop or she's rendered a head and stuck it on a photo of a real body. She has 5 of them in the gallery that aren't even Poser renders. Now I have nothing against naked women, women playing with themselves, post work in PhotoShop etc but to say that they're real Poser files is just down right fraud. Can't they be moved to either a Mixed Medium gallery or something? I have no idea what she's trying to prove by posting them there but if you look real close at the head in the image above - she can't even use Poser very well. Guarie Ps - sorry don't normally like to post inflammatory messages but this gets my gaul. When I'm trying really hard to learn a program and produce quality images and someone comes along and tries and pass this stuff off as Poser work. Then goes and insults the rest of us with her "real art" comments.
