I don't think ANYONE is really good with the grouping tools... Allegedly you can hold down the CTRL key (on PCs) and use this to de-select areas for grouping. Then just create a texture map for each group's material that fades back into the main skin color to get more realistic make-up (after turning OFF "apply texture changes to whole figure")
Unfortunatly the number of faces/triangles that make up most parts of the poser figures, do not allow you to get an exact region. Sometimes you get lucky. I.E. "..For good then for evil" post I did. The purple cloth around her head, neck and chest were all just done with the grouping tool. But that even is not exact. I wanted a rounder transition around the check and chin. It just can not be done with the grouping tool. The best thing for the grouping tool I've found is in conjuntion with magnets! If you really want to get fairly percise onwhat you want to pull, push or strech, group, then assign the mag zone to the group. I still think Maps are the way to go to place textures on the face. Jeff H--Your grouping is great! I would use a subtler color, but that's just taste :) In the end, Allie is right, but it sure would be great to change makeup tones on the fly like this...and on a tex map eyeliner never looks right. -Darth "hates to admit when Allie is right" Logice (Just giving you a hard time Allie ;)

just tried grouping make-up areas so I could tweak material colors. I think I'm on to something here, but am not too good with grouping tool. Any thoughts? -Darth_Logice
