Are you using a beta copy? My version says 2.0, even after the patch, on the title and about. 2.0.b21 sure sounds like a beta. But I suppose it could be saying 2.0.0.21. As this is the version number after the patch when I right click the Application and get properties (or info on a mac). Regards, Paul
Actually 2.0b21 is the patch. The original release was 2.0b18 I think, so it did change. Best regards, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

Hi, if the about box shows 2.0.b21 the patch is properly installed (on Windows). There is a bug on the Mac and the build number does not show, that's probably why you would see 2.0 even after applying the patch. We are having problems with our tech support and I would like to apologize about that. We are working it. If you have other problems please email me directly at charles@eovia.com Charles TGS/Eovia
I've had a different problem with the patch. After I downloaded and installed it, I've not been able to start Carrara. The program locks on the initial Start Up screen, and never goes any further. I re-downloaded the patch, and reinstalled that, but no-go. Can you think of anything I've could have done wrong? It may just be that my computer is messed up (I had to reinstall Windows 98 recently). My plan is to reinstall the original 2.0 version and then reinstall the patch. Unfortunatley, I just moved and haven't found my application CD yet. Argh. So, if you can think of anything that might have gone awry that might be fixable by a configuration edit, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, no bigee, I probably won't die from Carrara withdrawal before I finally find my CD. Of course, if I do, you're outta my will.
Try deleting your Carrara.ini file. Carrara will rebuild it when you launch and it's been known to do really whacky things to C if it's been corrupted. Good luck, Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

Thanks folks! I appreciate your responses. Somehow I thought that build 21 was the one on the original 2.0 CD which I received from Eovia when I purchased the upgrade. Oh well, that's what happens when you're over 50! What's the saying?..."When you're over 50 there's three things you loose, your hair, your libido, and...uh, I forgot the third one."

Howdy folks, I downloaded and installed the CS2.1 patch a few weeks ago and wasn't sure it installed properly. I sent the enclosed e-mail to eovia tech support twice and they never got back to me. Can anybody help please? By the way, is eovia tech support this unresponsive, or are they just really busy or something? Thanks for your support. ***START OF E-MAIL Hi, I just downloaded the CS2 to CS2.1 patch and applied it. The patch completed with a dialog box indicating it was successful (I don't remember the exact wording). When I started CS2, the version number in the lower right corner of the splash screen still indicated the original version and build number, 2.0.b21. The "About Carrara" drop down from the eovia logo in the upper left corner of the desktop indicates the same. I applied the patch a second time, and this time the patch didn't proceed with any disk activity or progress indicators during the process, but quickly displayed the final dialog box indicating success. I assume the patch saw that it was already applied, jumped to the end of its process, and displayed the success dialog box. Is there any way the program itself will indicate whether the patch was successfully applied? The way things are now, I'm not sure it has, given the contradictory facts. Thanks, ***END OF E-MAIL
