As a long time poser user I have seen Daz firstly support, then with the demise of metacreations, sustain the Poser community. Since then it has inspired other people to provide Poser content, the likes of RDNA, PoserStyle, Rosity Marketplace and so forth, all owe Daz a huge thanks. With the release of the Platinum Club Daz have done a great favour for everybody, I have just expanded my poser library by a collosal ammount for very little financial investment. I am eternaly grateful. I spend probably $150 a month on Poser stuff and now I know I am going to get even better value for money. My thanks to you all.

Maybe THAT's the reason for the P. Club at DAZ: Windfall of cash, and cheaper prices allow all of us to save up for their app...LOL.

I'm agreeing totally. I've been totally uninterested in using Poser since the P5 release and subsequent "happenings" related to same. I joined the "P" club, bought tons of stuff and actually was happy to get into Poser yesterday for the first time in months. And I'm going back today! Thanks DAZ, I've finally got Antons' Egyptian series which I never could have justified purchasing before...bought CastleDEV's Temple 2 also...so you see, there's a "trickle down" effect

I have to agree here.... After using P5 for awhile, I was so depressed with the program, I was going to throw it in the trash, and sell off Poser 4....I didn't even want to look at Poser again. I had a brief email conversation with Dan Farr....he said there were great things about to happen with DAZ..to stick around...I'm glad I did.... Plus, Poser 5 is starting to shape up...although I still prefer P4 as far as being able to put something together quickly, and with much less hassle. I'm sure things will go better with P5 once we get higher on the learning curve..

I agree as well. DAZ has always maintained a high level of quality and for those of us (like me) who do not own some of the older items available there, the P Club is an amazing deal. I was also losing interest in Poser after all the problems related to P5, but now I'm finding it fun again thanks to DAZ. It's a very smart idea that just might cause other vendors and merchants to put a little more time and thought into their products before sticking them up for sale (have you taken a look at some of the stuff in our Marketplace lately?...eek). :) Anyway, my thanks go out to those at DAZ as well. Reba's always been a shinign example of customer relations, as far as I can tell from my own experience. Personally I've been finding Poser5 huge fun to play with (admittedly not having quite as many problems as some) but I've STILL bought the P club membership. I figure that even though much of what I'd really like isn't in the club at present, maybe I'll get their Poser eqivalent for $1.99 . Seriously though, except where they're splitting up products so they can charge more than $1.99 for the whole thing (saw that trick on a brokered item with original price of under $15 IIRC) it's a wonderful deal - and they're bound to sell me all sorts of thing sI just couldn't justify otherwise. I've been downloading like crazy all weekend. And I'll probably never get around to using any of them since I'm going to school full time. I was a little puzzled myself with the split-up of some items as well. The Pop Stars textures have been split up and I had purchased one of them a while back and didn't want to duplicate the same texture. It looks to me like they split this particular package up so that you purchase Victoria and Michael clothing textures separately instead of together as they were in the original 3 packages. It's probably better for me anyway since I have an ultra slow dial-up connection. I've been theorizing that DAZ may be using the Platinum Club so that we can repurchase our older figures at the low cost that would be compatible with their own Poser program. Since Curious Labs is being such a stinker about their proprietary file formats, DAZ will have to create a new file format thus making our older Zygote/DAZ files worthless unless they come up with a conversion program.

I'm largely ignoring the politics issue between CL and DAZ - I've missed most (if not all) of the relevant info and to be honest it's irrelevant to me (or rather, it OUGHT to be!). What I want is good stuff priced fairly - be it programs, models, textures, frozen chicken or what-have-you. While I can understand a little nervousness at other people understanding and using your proprietary file formats, don't CL owe a rather huge debt (morally) to the .OBJ file format themselves? This all smells far too much like the Bill Gates/Steve Jobs issues of years gone by (Xerox seemingly having designed huge chunks of what the two quarrelled about in the 80's IIRC). I say stop the fighting and find a middle ground - work together towards a greater future not pulling apart potentially to an unhappy end. Cliff Bowman

I'm happy with the texture package split-ups...God, what a PIA to have to download 25MB of stuff when all I want was, maybe, 1 of the variations. Usually I wouldn't buy it. Worked well for me and I'm grateful they did it

I call this universe in front of me "computer." Computer says "go back to Platinum Club. Get even more stuff. Ignore that thing called life." Now I am morphing pony tails. Now I am morphing a dragon into a humanoid. Did I once have responsibilities, friends, loved ones ... what? What happened? Where is "life?" There is only computer, Platinum Club, and I.
