Subject: Victoria\Vicki boy is she ugly.

Hello All, I've seen so many posts about this new model from zygote, I had to see her for myself. I haven't liked what I've seen so far. After I got over the initial shock of how ugly she is and looked again, I got more scare...Yicks!!! She could sour a lemon with that face! This girl is in need of some serious plastic surgery...that or may be a morph for a paper bag to put over her head:) Sorry if this offends, but it's what I think. Tribe.

Ede ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 11:58 AM

i agree Tribe, but she has a goot potential for becoming really great with some morphs. Wait what zygote will release the next days! -Ede

While we're on this subject, I've heard a number of people say that Zygote offers a 30-day money back guarantee on Victoria. Can anyone tell me where this is stated on Zygote's site?...I sure didn't see it. I know it hasn't been long since Victoria came out, but the more I work with her, the more I have my doubts that all the king's horses, all the king's men, all the time in the world, and Traveler himself could ever make this figure hold its own against good old P4 Posette. She is a BAD looking wo-MAN!!! The forehead is to long, the face is to thin, the nose is to fat, the lips look like a cartoon, the body proportions look crazy, Etc, etc, etc...!!!! Not happy with the purchase at all. Come on Zygote -- GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. This figure needs more than morphs it needs major reconstructive surgery.

shadownet ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 1:24 PM

I have to agree. I think - in potential - Vicky had possiblity but I tell yah, that face and body needs a major overhaul. The body especially - it is no where near close to being half as good as the P4 in appearance. It reminds me more of the old P2 I've seen. I am not great at morphing and am wondering now also if I really will ever be able to use Vicky as is. Tell me guys, do yah think maybe Zygote should hire the God of Morphs and have him rework this thing, head to toe, and then re-release her as an update to us folks what bought her to begin with? Just a thought. Rob

In painting class we had a regular nude human model ironically named Vicky, and the funniest thing is she looked sorta like the Victoria model.. When a new model came in to take her place we were shocked it was a much older man, overweight and he smoked a cigar during the whole session.. (Oh and he was naked too) Interesting though, I think we did our best work with this old overweight man with a stogie.. I don't recall some of the best art in history of being sexy babes.. But then I might be wrong.. I think Mona Lisa is plain but what an intriguing painting... I think the old saying is true about artist.. They see beauty where others don't and only enhance that beauty for others to see and appreciate... =)

edarsenal ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 2:40 PM

i hear ya Cindy. did the Figure Illustration classes and had a wide variety of people. Fat, skinny, old, young, a VERY full spectrum. i've seen ALOT of knock outs done in artwork. Drew a few myself. But creating beauty from a plain or ugly subject is TRUE talent. was no big fan of Picasso till i got to see his earlier pencil and charcoal studies he did in Paris of old peasants. The man CAPTURED the inner spirit of these people that the rest of Paris shit on. VERY incredible stuff. i still think his life was TOO effed up in the end and his work suffered for it, but that's MY opinion amd view and we'll leave it at that. the new model doesn't have to be a knockout. But the anatomy on her is BEYOND disgust and WAY BELOW par. the ankles and where the front of the leg meets the foot is a total FUBAR and this one of a dozen screw ups as far as anatomy goes. Leaps and bounds are being made with these programs and the morphs and textures. WHY DIDN'T ZYGOTE CAPITALIZE ON ANY OF THEM??? they even had our wonderful morph god trav beta testing it. and STILL didn't listen!! it's a mediocre piece WITH potential. Translation: YOUR potential. YOU the community's potential to FIX, CORRECT and do all the work for, while they make the profits. That's plain wrong. and Zygote i KNOW your reading this. This community respects you. Don't piss on the community like this. it's bad business. pure and simple. Ed Arseneault EdArsenal@aol.com

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 3:14 PM

Well said, Ed. There's no reason Victoria has to be artificially beautiful, but come on! She is supposed to be a human female. The least we should expect is something close to anatomically correct. She reminds me of the old Star Trek episode where the aliens "repaired" a woman after she had been in a horrible accident. They had no human model, so what they did worked, but bore no resemblance to a normal human being. There are just too many gross errors in Victoria's anatomy (eyes too far apart, head too small, hands too big, navel in the wrong place, shoulders too wide, unrealistic groin and on and on...) There's no real reason for any of them except a lack of attention to detail that a few human models and an anatomy book could have easily corrected. She is much too expensive to require so much work on our part to fix. It IS bad business. Zygote, are you listening? Diane Griffith DTHUREGRIF@aol.com

No Allie, you misread my statement... I said SEXY BABES.. That seems to be the complaint of some of the men that I've read on this forum.. I don't think Victoria is sexy either if I had to compare her to Pamela Anderson.. But neither do I value a woman by how beautiful she is (physically) or a man on how much money he has either... I've personally never seen a perfectly anatomically correct 3D human yet except for maybe the 2,000 dollar models, but that was only images I've seen on the net.. But I paid only 60 bucks so I didn't expect the highest end model.. I agree with Ed that just cause we are broke artist here that we don't expect high quality either, for what we do buy!.. I'm happy anyone is still interested in Poser modeling actually, but we have a choice to buy her or not so there is no argument there...

Byte Me Ok ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 5:00 PM

afterthought from above Venus de Milo statue is about the goddess of love and beauty, not sex.. Unless your saying a woman isn't sexy unless she's beautiful.... My point was about sexy lookin' chicks and beauty .. For that matter not many folks thought Venus de Milo wasn't all that cute either with that nose...She was almost lost to a lime kilm ... Even the guy who recovered her in 1820 thought she was rather odd looking.. Now she is considered one of the most beautiful of all Greek art.. Maybe in a few hundred years Vicky will become a classic beauty too.. lol I have to agree with Renapd about her features being classic European.. anatomically correct?.. Well that's another point entirely as I stated above...

Jack D. Kammerer ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 5:10 PM

For me, the woman doesn't have to be "stunning" to get my attention (Pamela Anderson???? YICK!!!!!!), it is a person's personality that attracts me to her. If she doesn't have that, well then it better be some sort of looks. So Personality or looks works for me and saddly, Vickie lacks in both departments..... :o) ....so far hehehe Jack

SnowSultan ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 5:16 PM

My major concern is how much effort it will take on this forum's part to bring Victoria's usefulness to that of Posette. I chose to spend the 60 bucks, and if I'm out, I'm out...that was my choice, and I can't complain. But I bought Victoria because I thought that with some minor morphs and some simple texture cut-and-pasting, it would be an improved Posette - which is not true. Obviously in real life, looks aren't everything, but when it comes to a 3D model, they're the only thing. It's far easier to add flaws to a perfect figure than to make a flawed figure perfect. I certainly don't want to see others who bought Victoria to be left with a model unsupported by this community, but all in all, I'd rather see Traveler and the others put their efforts back into the P4 Female. Just my opinion of course, but I feel the work it would take to turn Victoria into a superior female model is simply too great. SnowS

If you can pay 60 bucks for an ugly model, you ain't broke. Broke is not being able to buy food or toilet paper or pay your bills. 60 bucks ain't broke. And she's still ugly as hell, and I don't even have poser.

Hell, I wish Zygote WOULD make some uglier models. What is this, the friggin' MASTER RACE in 3D? Where are the fat guys, the old folks, etc.? I remember long ago good-naturedly ragging Steve Cooper about the fact that Poser 3 was "3-D Honky Software", and sure enough, when P4 came out, there were ethnic variations. I'm glad he listened to THAT suggestion, rather than the one from the guy who wrote to him requesting that Poser 4 add genitalia to the animals...(I swear, that's a true story). But they're still all candidates for the cover of Vogue, except for that goddamn dorky man; HE could use some upgrading in the looks department...Keee-Rist, what a frigging RETARD...but other than his face, still a guy with big pecs and six-pack abs. I personally know DAMN FEW people who are perfect physical specimens; I'm built like a goddamn silverback gorilla. I'm sure some of you are quite happy with Dorkus and Posette, and Eve, and their mutant sister Victoria. But I feel LIMITED in what I can depict using Poser. I'd LOVE to have a nasty old hag, or a fat guy smoking a cigar. Zygote created some of these kinds of characters for Poser3. There was a fat guy, but he had damn few MTs in his face, and of course since this was pre-conforming-clothes, all he had to wear was this ugly polo shirt. There was an old guy, too, but again, few face MTs, and you were stuck with the clothes it came with. Unfortunately, this CD evidently never caught on, and there have NEVER been MTs made for them. I, unfortunately, lack the talent to create them myself. Hey Zygote, if you're feeling generous, why not make these old unpopular models free for the download?

Byte Me Ok ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 7:22 PM

hehe.. I think Pamela Anderson is kinda on the cheap (lookin') side too... But she ain't famous for her actin'... I just used her as an example of a sexy babe..... I appreciate some people think she's (Victoria) is ugly and some think she's stunning..Some negative comments have in fact been very humorous.. lol I like a controversial figure myself but then I've always been considered off beat and different.. I'm sure whoever created Venus de Milo thought she was beautiful as probably did the artist who created Victoria.. We don't know how the Greeks responded to Venus (we're not even sure who created her) but we do know traditionally the Greeks de-emphasized the noses of their statues.. Venus however is different from ancient Greek art for her nose is very ethic and not like the classical Greek art... Who knows maybe she was as controversial as Victoria.. I don't like that Tooth paste ad beauty myself, men or women.. Preferring a person with character in the face or body.. I fear some folks are buying her thinking they will be left out, but I still don't think she's for everyone.. I'm picky about what I buy and I wouldn't have bought her for any other reason than I like her.. I've seen a lot of renders in the gallery of characters people have morphed that I thought was rather unappealing, BUT I looked at the over all image and found the pic to be rather beautiful... Member Snuffe comes to mind too.. He's a 2D artist who makes very ugly characters but they are so beautiful at the same time.. I really love his art.. It's all a matter taste and that's cool.. I'm sure Zygote didn't put out a model saying "let's do an ugly chick this time" snickersnicker* Probably more like "let's get away from the Barbie Doll image this time" .. Who knows.. Just guessing here... =) I've heard she's ugly since she came out so that's not new to me and I really don't care.. What I was concerned about is what did people consider beautiful in a woman?.. What makes a woman beautiful physical and otherwise?.. Thanks Jack for answering that.. =) .. It's been interesting and some what entertaining to read some of the men responses to Vicky...Victoria is only a 3D mesh for garsh sakes, but it's been interesting none the less... =) Maybe this is the Poser Dork's revenge.. hehe

bonestructure ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 7:29 PM

You know legume, you're right. There should at least be some morphs and textures for old folks

Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.

Byte Me Ok ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 7:48 PM

LOL@Legume You apparently sent in your message the same time I did so I'm just now reading what you posted and I agree.. I'd like to see more variety for Poser 4.. Even with morphs it's hard to make an older person..=( Fat people too cause when your fat even your feet get fat!.. LOL The morphs out there (though very good) focus more on the belly, butt and boobs not the over all .. When you try to scale the rest of the body it doesn't work, least not to my satisfaction...

SnowSultan ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 8:47 PM

Legume, I totally agree - I wish there were old, ugly, and overweight Poser models too. We are basically limited to making "attractive" figures, and it can get repetitive sometimes. LOL, I don't want a 3D master race, but I did want a figure that was more anatomically accurate without having to apply a ton of morphs. Everyone's opinion of what is attractive is different, of course. SnowS

Thumbs up for the ugly women!! Of course you can always put a wig and a bra on the Poser Dork and make his thing invisible and dress him in high heels and then you would have one real hell of an ugly lovely!!! Hehehe ;-)

bonestructure ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 10:10 PM

Personally, as far as I can say about attractive, is that Thorne and I seem to have the same taste in women lol

Crescent ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 10:28 PM

Hey, I appreciate a realistic looking woman but Vicki isn't. She'd make a good wife for Zippy the Pinhead. I don't mind the unusual face, etc., but I'm assuming mental problems due to lack of space for a brain.

3DSprite ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 10:38 PM

Yeah, Thorne's women rock!! But you got it all wrong bone! They're Fairies, not women!! Just thought I'd get that straight before Thorne sees this and has a snit, he's quite particular about his "Fairies" ya know! Who's Zippy the Pinhead?? Can anyone enlighten me?? ;-)

3DSprite ( ) posted Sat, 01 April 2000 at 11:10 PM

You certainly can't beat Millie's smile, that's for sure!! That's one nice set of teeeeeeeeth!!! ;-)

DTHUREGRIF ( ) posted Sun, 02 April 2000 at 12:42 AM

Thanks you, Legume! Yes, we do need more of a variety of characters (or the ability to make them from a standard one). Old, fat, etc. would be terrific. I don't care one whit about the fact that Victoria isn't beautiful. I have no trouble morphing the faces I want. What bothers me is that she just isn't put together like a human being! She may have more vertices that allow for better detail, but my god! She needs to be rebuilt before she'll ever resemble a real person, beautiful or not! Perhaps we should send Zygote a copy of Grey's Anatomy?

pam ( ) posted Sun, 02 April 2000 at 8:09 AM

he he, I am sittin here with my anatomy/life drawing books, looking at the notes Da Vinci and Durer made about proportion and scale, and with all the great morphs our morph masters have made, I am hoping to fix her up, I do not really mind the extra work, or that some folks do not like her. I think I have a pretty good looking first charactor going, and doing the anatomy tweaking is kind of fun :-)

Hey, Pan. Dont listen to us. You may like the figure. And it'll probably get better when new morphs are available. I'm sayen the default face looks like there's an "Ugly Stick" morph and the dial has been set to +10000.000. Haha

actually pan, this is been a welcome back/april's fool joke on ya buddy. hope ya didn't miss the sixty bucks too much ;) from what i understand, once you RE-DO the hideousness, there's some decent working beneath. hmmm.... sounds like last call at a single's bar and it would be nice to see some different body shapes and ages created and give everyone who uses Poser a wider selection of subject matter to do.

nandus ( ) posted Mon, 03 April 2000 at 4:49 PM

The task of mutating Vicky to something like posette is alike changing a Land Rover or a Hummer to a Porshe! I agree that many times we need a more mundane kind of model. However, is easier to morph Posette to that. In my opinion the ideal would be to increase the polygonal count in Eve and have an ideal HiRes woman body to start with. We had some time ago a high resolution woman - the Mobius HiRes Nude female. Problem with that one was lack of morphs and the same joints defects. But I miss the smooth shade from her breasts! I hope that Zygotes releases first a normal human morph to Vicky. All the others will be welcome later.
