Subject: Conforming to a Horse

wondering how this might be done? I made the conformer, it fits perfectly, but when i use the prog i have to match it to the horse's obj and actually make a conforming cr2, it fails. anyone know how i might make the cr2 for the harness conforming correctly? thanks! Brian

well as you can see i got the conformer lined up perfectly, i used p-wizard to make the obj conform to the horse itself, and the new cr2 imports correctly, perfectly in place (top picture) but then when i click Conform To, it looks horrible (bottom picture) any ideas? thanks! Brian

figured it out, the horse character by default (even when you zero the figure) has the hips offset by 0.4 on the Y scale, once i found this it was easy to fix.

heyas; yup, good job. check the 'painlessly easy conforming clothing' tutorial for specs on creating conformers for any figure. (in with the goodies.)

the horse character by default (even when you zero the figure) has the hips offset by 0.4 on the Y scale, Riddle me this one. if you would. How did you know are for that matter find out just how far it was off If it was set to zero(0) out ? i think i could use that info. in other ways. No matter where you go there you are

right, the horse is offset by .4 on the Y scale AFTER you zero the figure, you click the hips and there it is, it says Y position is -.004 or whatever it said exactly... so all i did is put the OPPOSITE of that into the "figure offset" when i imported the conformer and then poof, it appeared exactly perfectly on the horse. Then after i did the hierarchy and saved the figure to the library, i just used poser wizard to make the cr2 conforming, and then it worked fine.

er... but you're supposed to make the conformer's hip y trans 0, not negative of the conformee's. or that offset weird stuff. to really REALLY zero a figure, you follow this procedure: 1: open the jp window and hit the 'zero figure' button. 2: grab the hip and set the x/y/z trans dials all to 0. 3: grab the BODY and set the x/y/z trans dials all to 0.

well your right exactly hehe, but in my case the conformer was already made using the horse in the wrong place, so when i hit conform it was off... so thats how i fixed it; if you zero the figure COMPLETELY before you ever start modeling anything you should be ok hehe.
