More RAM would help, especially with models like the dragon. It's a hefty model and DAZ recommend lots of RAM. Also, a P2 at 350 MHz ain't exactly rapid, I'd seriously consider upgrading if you're going to be working on 3D stuff. A bigger HD helps a treat, too. By the way - 3D graphics creation will burn a hole in your pocket one way or another.

I had the same problem with the 57 chevy except it would make a blue screen error when rendering in a new window......win98se....went to xp and that corrected everything I think it has something to do with 98 and ME because I Have a 1.3 Athlon with 512 megs ddr and a gforce card which are all newer components xp is the only thing I changed on my system to overcome this problem. I was having similar problems until deciding that opening the separate window was dragging my memory down. I'm running an AMD 1.1 gig with 256meg ram under Windows ME. I changed my document window to 800x600, render everything to that, then export the image as a save file. No render crashes since (knock on wood).
Look at all the programs you have in the taskbar!!! Is that bar across the top, another 'permanent' taskbar for Lotus, that loads at startup, too?? With all that stuff running in the background all the time, I wouldn't be surprised if you only had 2 Megs of free memory BEFORE you launched Poser. There's 2 free programs you can download, that might help. "EndItAll" and "Rambooster". Run the 1st one, then the 2nd one, to free up as much memory as possible. I remember Poser doing that to me a while back. I might have had to reinstall. Can't remember for sure.
Wow, I think it's really nifty that a PII 350 can run Poser with all that background stuff going on. Actually I ran Poser 5 on a PII 450 with only 256 megs of ram until just a few months ago. But I didn't run as much in the background...no problems, except it was a bit slow (video was good though and I could use full texture display and full tracking...amazing). But the suggestion about those utilities is a good one.
