Subject: important life changing poser question to ponder (probably not a trick!)

Ok little bit of a trick to get people to read this. I have P5. How do I get jpg images on squares, to be as bright and sharp as if I used them as background. I dont want a brick wall or shiny marble on my square i want my own jpg damn it! Thank you very much.

1) Load a square prop from the Library
  1. Select the square, then go to the Material Room (CTRL-U).

  2. Set Diffuse_Value and Specular_Value to 0. This turns them off.

  3. Attach a 2D image map node to the Ambient_Color channel, as follows:

Left-click on the little plug icon next to Ambient_Color to get the popup menu.
New Node --> 2D Textures --> image_map

  1. Load your jpg into the Image_Map node.

  2. Set Ambient_Value to 1 for maximum brightness.

Now try rendering it and see how it looks.

Note when you do this, though, that it is like using a process screen in cinema. The square is actually "lit up" with the image and will not take shadows. If you want them you have to add them.
