Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 10 1:16 pm)
A lot depends on how large your texture folder is, and what shape it's in - I fixed a Poser Lockup problem once when I noticed my textures folder was taking up 700+Gigs on a 60Gig drive - ran disk utilities to repair the corrupted folder entries, then defragged, and the problem went away. Disk Diags & Defrags seem always to be a good idea when looking into a poser problem.
I have the same problem, but I still don't have any solution. BUT! Yesterday, I moved all my "readme" files, all my 3ds, obj etc.. to another harddrive. In other words, I cleaned my poser4 directory from all sort of "polution" and it seemed to helped a bit. The speed could be better thoug, but still it helped. So my advice is to strip any file that don't belong in the poser directory! Hope it helps you Djuke
a whole minute? alert the media... If this is really such a problem, you might want to try correct reference(see free stuff) as this will make sure the files in poser are pointing in all the right directions, making it easier for poser to find stuff. Otherwise sitting quietly in your chair helps, so does getting up to get a drink.

My poser seems to be taking FOREVER to load. Sometimes up to 1 minute just to load up on a 2.4 with 1 GB running Windows XP. Any ideas what might be causing such a slow load time? Thanks! John
