I've been thinking about this and wondering if its possible since the same base geometry is used pretty much through out...and crossed over here and there...bear with me... What if victoria were given all the morphs to make her into any one of the children, its the same geometry, so morphing it should work, no? Then what if Stephanie were given all the morphs to make her into michael? She is after all his geometry but she's shaped like vicki... now what if we used this stephanie to make all michaels clothes fit vicki in tailor... then use the child morph vicki to make all the adult clothes fit the kids in tailor... would any of that even be possible?
Hmmm..I dunno. Can you point me at some good examples of the Tailor having been used? All I've ever seen come from has been pretty crunchy. Didn't Jim Burton Do an adaptation of his maid set for the girls? I'd love to see all of Vicky's clothing packs for the girls, and Mike's stuff for the boys too. These poor kids have no warm clothes. Everything they do have is for spring and summer.
I seem to remember seeing 74% show up some place. I'm sure there was a discussion back some time ago, but 'tis too late for me to go digging. The name shadowcat comes to mind, but that might have been for some other clothing reference. I think the tailor thing is somewhat wishful thinking since it doesn't do scaling. Also, the problem with morphing Vicky into the preschooler would be with the joint parameters (I would guess) because of those vastly different sized (and proportioned limbs), there probably wouldn't be a way to do it direclty using dials. However, using a pz2 file, it probably would be possible (no animation support, however) if you were really good. Of course, I could be wrong :) eric
Momcat, Jim Burton did do the adaptation, and I really like the update. Also, the tailor has some areas where it really does a great job. It doesn't do everything as you would hope (most of the cloth shape gets distorted if the change is too dramamtic, and everything starts looking like a second skin) eric (again)
Tried to adapt Red Velvet Dress from Vicky's Euro Wear to PT girl, using Tailor. 1. Per part of PT Vicky, Export OBJ as morph. (in export dialog, uncheck universe, then check just one part). 2. Select each part of Vicky 2, load corresponding OBJ as a morph named PT. Set morph to "1.0". Indeed, became shape of PT. 3. Memorize figure, and save to char lib. 4. Load that new char CR2 into Tailor. 5. Load dress. 7. Select menu option "Morphs selected like one body morph". 8. Per part, check that "PT" morph. 9. Create morphs in the dress. 10. Back in Poser4, loaded PT Vicky and the dress. 11. Turn on PT morph in dress. 12. With IK OFF, in Joint Ed, "Zero Figure" PT, to see how dress falls on her before attempt to conform. Problems: * neck and shoulder - transparent edges jagged - kind of a "scalloped" effect - rather than smooth curve. * hips poke thru at sides. * skirt area completely botched, with many vertices not moving into place (PT much shorter than Vicky, these vertices appear to be "left behind" during the morph). * texture scrunched up around the bosom. 13. Conformed dress to PT. * Complete mish-mosh. Clearly, joint parameters must be totally re-done. Conclusion: not useful in this situation. There are two separate issues: A. Tailor would need to be revised to better perform this morph adaptation. B. Creating good conforming parameters - how? - - - - - - - - - - I hesitate to say this here, after the hostile ranting by a few people against "commercial" messages in this Poser Forum and the gallery, but since someone has asked, here goes: In December and January, I will be offering some inexpensive solutions for adapting clothing between characters. I am tackling cases that Tailor doesn't handle well or can't do at all. For example, I can adapt clothes between Poser4 woman and Vicky, even though they are completely different meshes. There are many issues, so I am not attempting a "general utility" solution at this time. Instead, I feed clothes one at a time through some custom math I wrote, making changes as needed. My first product will be a large set of adaptations for Kaila, who is based on PT girl. (A teenage girl with almost no wardrobe, who I'm sure would love to be able to wear Vicky's and Posette's clothes!) Like with Tailor, you would have to own the original clothing item for each item you want Kaila to wear. Unlike Tailor, you can't adapt a cloth at all until I've fed it through my math and adjusted as needed. I will then tackle other characters, based on popular demand.
Wow! That's a lot of work. Thanks so much for sharing your
technique. I think I prefer to let my credit card do all the work
though, lol >^~. Any chance you'll be modeling any more clothes
for the kids? The boys and the girls both could really use some
winter wear, like turtle necks, sweaters, parkas, boots, etc. PS:
Those little socks and mary janes are adorable. I never noticed
those before; now I'm off to pay DAZ a visit >^^

Hey ther- just like the subject says: How do you resize Vicktoria clothing for the millenium girls? Is it possible to make them work with the kids? Thanks. Aharon
