Does Vue animate water surfaces. What about waves? Looking into buying either Vue or WB3 for doing serious animtion. That means Mover+ Vue, . I also use 3dsMax, & Poser figures . I animate both Poser & Poser exported (to Max Char Studio) figures. I need advice as to the easiest s/w for doing animations. What about things like wind- ?

what about buying Maya for thousands of dollars? Vue can have animated textures for water. But it can't make waves by changing the geometry of an object. The same with wind. What you want to have is playing in another league. And maybe you try to find out how often you have seen good wave and wind animations. Not so often - these are the "not so easy" things. But with the addition of Mover 4 you will be easily able to import Poser animations into Vue and render them there. Maybe you try to download a demo of Vue to get a feeling wether the software suits you.

No Vue doesn't animate water surfaces, as far as making moving waves or wakes. If you use Max, there is the Seascape plugin. It is a little buggy but produces really good results when its working. Your best bet is WorldBuilder - the latest version. It even has a splash texture modeler. However, if its really large waves that you want, then you only have two expensive choices. Max with the Seascape plugin, or Maya Versions 4.0 or 4.5. The latest Maya 4.5 has a wonderful Fluids generator, also with spray generator. But, you are looking at a $5,000. expenditure. Max, Maya and even Truespace do wind effects.
