I just wanted to take a moment to give a quick thank you to all the artists who have given their work to us as part of this promotion. Thank you. There is a lot of excellent material in these gifts from many excellent and giving artists. Again, thank you. Take care and be well.
Thread: Can't checkout with La Femme only in cart? min. $3.50 order? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
PrestonW posted at 2:10PM Tue, 29 January 2019 - #4344527
There is a minimum amount of $3.50 to checkout. There is nothing we can do to override that.
So, something as simple as placing it in the Free Stuff library is out of the question? I mean it is being touted as free. Is it free or is it $3.50? To be honest, I would have no objection to paying for it. I just do not like being told something is free when, in fact, it isn't. If you need to make a minimum purchase to get La Femme free, clearly state as such. Why create a PR problem with what should be a major product release?

@markschum,
These are the verbatim instructions for Talk Designer Assistant for Poser 7:
I performed the steps above exactly as instructed... well, except for the "start Talk Designer and enjoy!" step. Can't enjoy what does not work.
TDA for Poser 7 failed to create a useable viseme map for my character which is a Michael 4-based character. If there are ANY other factors that come into play in using this program, then it should have been clearly stated in the readme. It was not.
A viseme map I adapted for V4 works just fine. I guess I will have to do the same for M4 now. I simply wanted a program that would cut the time factor everytime I wanted to use a character not supported by Poser's Talk Designer. I thought TAD was that program. I was wrong.
As an aside, I wish Content Paradise had a system similar to the Renderosity store where buyers could comment and rate their purchases. It might have saved me $19.95. I will remember that the next time I am trying to decide between a prop or character purchase between Renderosity and CP.
Take care, be well, keep flying.

Worked for me just after midnight. Unfortunately, the product I purchased - Talk Designer Assistant for Poser 7 - does not. At least for Michael 4, it does not work. It does not appear to be saving the viseme files in the proper manner and/or format and, consequently, they do not work. So, I can kiss another $20 goodbye in my attempt to get Poser to what it should do. Anyway, I am rambling again, back to the subject at hand, the Smith-Micro site appeared to be working just fine or, at least, with no more than the usual bugs and foibles.
Take care, be well, keep flying.

Thread: In Search Of: A Web Host | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I think nerd hit it on the head. For instance, take globat. How can they offer such a price? Well, for one theyre putting as many as 4000 websites on a single server. Think of that. 4000 sites! As a comparison, the host I am currently with has 379 sites on the server one of my sites is on. Which would you rather be on? A company can promise all sorts of unlimiteds and overcrowd their servers. But all it takes is a handful of sites on that server with 4000+ sites to start bursting bandwidth before your site starts to crawl like molasses in winter. I dont care what hardware youre running; no server should have 4000+ sites on it! I would advise you to take a gander at the discussions that take place at www.webhostingtalk.com. The stories you will hear are amazing. And youll get an idea of those hosts who are honest and those who you should avoid like the plague. IMHO, any host that will place 4000+ sites on a single server should be avoided like the plague. Unfortunately, that is how many of these hosts can offer such great deals. They overload their servers and pray no one actually tries to take advantage of that unlimited bandwidth or that unlimited pop email accounts. Also, do a simple test. Send an email inquiry to a host youre thinking of. See how long it takes to respond with something other than an autoresponder. If theyre slow responding to a potential customer, chances are theyre going to be just as slow responding to a client with a service issue. Well, palaz, I must apologize for the behavior and attitudes of some of my fellow community members. Now, I have no idea as to why you would even want Poser 5 with all its failures and problems. However, in the spirit of cooperation that this is meant in, here ya go: FLESRUO-YKCUFOG-169 If this doesnt work, let us know! I have plenty more where that came from. Is there any news yet as to wether the Mover 4 update will require Poser 5? I truly hope not:( I'm a Poser Propack user hanging on for Daz Studio, as while Poser 5 is still so buggy I refuse to upgrade.<<< I emailed e-on on Thursday, June 19th. No word back yet. I am with you on this, Alla. I truly hope that e-on has not hitched their high-quality product to a dung wagon. Take care, be well, keep flying. casamerica

I've looked at the press release at the e-on site, and there is nothing there that implies exclusivity;... <<< From the press release posted above: "Mover 4.2 requires Poser 5." Now, like I said, I am hoping against hope that I am assuming incorrectly. However, that seems pretty "exclusive" to me. I have emailed eon on the matter and am awaiting a reply. Thread: * * * GREAT NEWS * * * | Forum: Vue
I'm sure they mean that you only need Poser 5 if you care to use the import capabillities.<<<
I did mean to imply that Mover 4.2 would require Poser 5 to simply work. But if future versions of Mover are only going to support Poser 5 for importing Poser animations then I and I am sure many are finished with it.
I think that some people might not be aware that Vue and Mover are two separate products.<<<
I am aware of that.
Mover is just for importing animations, and if you use Poser 4, just stick with the current version (but you can still upgrade Vue).<<<
I am also aware that Mover is for importing animations. I am questioning why eon would abandon all those who have "issues" with the "controversial" Poser 5 when Poser 4 has been and still is a reliable and stable platform for Mover imports. It does not make sense.
Most of the work I have done with Poser/Vue has been forensic related. While I am sure the current version of Mover will suffice for the near future, I am just saddened that a program, Vue-Mover, I truly, truly love has cutoff those loyal users who refuse to "experiment" any further with a version of Poser that is so far below the quality and stability of Vue-Mover that it is laughable.
I am not questioning anyone's decision to use Poser 5 and am not going to get into a Poser 5 debate. It is just that I had been operating under the assumption, since there IS a great deal of "controversy" with Poser 5, that any future support for Poser 5 in Vue/Mover would be in addition to continuing support for Poser 4 and Poser 4 PP. I was apparently wrong.
Take care, be well, keep flying.

Again: where is the problem??<<< The problem is the impression I am getting that future bug fixes, updates and upgrades will REQUIRE Poser 5. That impression coming from the fact that the release states that Mover 4.2 REQUIRES Poser 5. THAT is a BIG problem for those of us who will never, ever place Poser 5 on our computers again. And if future bug fixes, updates and upgrades of Vue are going to follow this road then, like I said, I have concluded my last transaction with e-on and will be exploring alternatives to Poser/Vue. I have already been using the Poser 4/Cinema 4d combination to a small extent. Perhaps it is time to begin using it as our main platform. No matter how much I love Vue/Mover, and I do truly love this program, I will not use it if it requires Poser 5 for its Poser imports. Take care, be well, keep flying. casamerica

So my assumption is correct? That is too bad. They've hooked their horse to a manure wagon. I could see it if future updates and upgrades were also supportive of Poser 4. But to abandon that in exclusive favor of, at best, what has to be considered a "controversial" Poser 5 is not the best news I could have heard from eon. I also do not believe it to be a wise business decision.
I use Vue in both hobby and professional work so this is doubly disappointing. I guess it is time to look for an alternative to the Poser-Vue combination I have been quite content with. We are currently in the middle of a project where Vue and Poser are being used. I had also just ordered an additional copy of Mover. It appears that this will be my last business transaction with eon. Hell will freeze over before I ever put Poser 5 on any of my home systems and Hell AND Heaven will both freeze before it will ever be seen on any of our business systems again.
Take care, be well, keep flying.

Mover 4.2 requires Poser 5.<<< If I am reading this correctly, I can assume that eon has decided to abandon further support of Poser 4 in future updates of Vue? Tell me I am wrong. Please, tell me I am wrong. Take care, be well, keep flying. casamerica
