They have definitely changed files on us. When I downloaded the update today it's size was a little less than 8MB, verses 1MB when I downloaded it yesterday. The newer version of the update works too!
Still no word from DAZ as to what was going on. I don't know about you, but when DAZ is serves up the WRONG ".exe" in an update - this is a very bad thing for computer security. Who knows what was in that first installer or who really put it there to be downloaded? When you run a ".exe" you are basically giving someone free run on your computer to do anything they want.
If DAZ does not even know what files they are serving up, I am not very happy about DAZ storing my credit card information on their servers.

No such luck with the renaming. I'm pretty coming to the conclusion there is a problem with updates that DAZ has posted.

Thread: Anna-Marie Goddard Digital Clone questions of use... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I really like the idea of Digital Clones, but dislike the idea of strings being attached to their use. When I pay $30-$40 for a Poser figure I do not want to be bothered with analyzing a EULA, or always having to think about how I use a model. Even though the Ann Marie EULA would almost certainly never be a problem, it's the additional hassle it adds that I find objectionable.
In the future, DAZ should just stick to cloning "unknown" models who do not require a EULA to use their likeness. What do I care if a model that a figure is based upon is famous or not! I just want a high quality product - even if the likeness belongs to Jane Doe.

Count me in too. Regardless of whether it's done with injection poses or simply listing the dial settings, a place where V3 formulas could be posted is a great idea.
Formulas do occasionally get posted here, but they are quickly buried in a pile of posts - never to be found again. If Renderosity passes on this one, they will be missing out on something that could really enhance the Poser forum.
By the way, does anyone have a formula for a more petite V3 body? I have experimented around with some settings, but have never really found the right combination.
Thread: More work on V3 male | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Creating a masculine looking V3 is a real challenge. I never have never been able it get it look right myself, but this is what I came up with when I tried.
Also, the hands are hands are another problem. They always look a bit deformed after I try scaling them. Anyone know of a good MOR pose that can fix this?
Thread: virus in an .exe? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Another trick to get around running and ".exe" is to change that extension to ".zip"
This does not work all the time, but often these renamed files can be read by Winzip, which seems safer than executing an ".exe"
Still a virus scan is a good idea, but I never count on the results always being accurate.
Thread: installing poser models | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you want to use Winzip, I attached a little tutorial I made for a friend to this post. Just follow the instructions in red, and obviously point Winzip to your Poser 5 folder instead of Poser 4. My tutorial assumes that the person who put together the Zip file included the path info (RuntimeGeometries etc.) so Winzip knows where to put the files.
Thread: Did You Flunk the Pbooost Compatability Test on XP Home? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My installation of Poser failed the Pbooost Compatability test. The weird thing is my Poser folder is on a NTSF partion along with my operating system. I though the locking problems only shows up if you installed Poser on a FAT 32 partion and have NTSF partions as well.
Thread: Did you know you could inject other poses with IPB? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very useful tutorial.
Now does anyone know of a way to get a pose to load hair props, or conforming clothing too?
Thread: Any long term bad effects from using the Camera Library for poses? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was thinking about that. It sounds like a good program because everyone always speaks very highly of it in this forum. My concern was that Pbooost would be adding a lot of specially named folders to my Poser Runtime. That's more stuff I will have to dig through when I am poking around in Windows Explorer editing files. The simpler my Runtime tree is the better.
Thread: Problem with Pose Menu | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was thinking, one possible reason for the pose names getting truncated might be that the display adapter is NOT set to display small fonts. Mine is set at "small fonts (96dpi)" and I never have this problem. Larger fonts are easier to read but you can't fit as much lettering across a fixed window size.
Then again, maybe this is problem is caused by the number of pose folders exceeding that limit that was mentioned.
I have 59 pose folders in my Pose directory, so we know the limit must be higher than that.
Thread: Areola too large on V3 male | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I believe I have found the post Martindj was referring to:
http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1067218
Sadly, still no cigar. The fix suggested only seems to work for the "Brad" Texture/MAT pack texture mentioned in the post. Same problem though.
I'm guessing the answer has something to do with the V3 material zones. If anyone understands how that fix worked, please let me know.

One other thing that has helped me unclutter things a bit putting all the near useless Curios Labs poses in a separate folder and compressing it with Winzip. I never use the any of the P4 figures anyway, and I can always unzip them if I ever need them.
Thread: Areola too large on V3 male | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks.
Both the "Nipples" and "SkinTorso" materials zones are pointing at the same body texture map.
I though of editing the body texture map like Boulder suggested, but I'll save that as a last resort. Whenever I see other artists renderings using this same texture map and model, the areola size is fine. The fault must be in my settings, not the map.
