Thread: Merry X-mas from the Ghost of Christmas Past | Forum: Bryce
It's a pleasure to be acquainted with such a talented bunch - truly amazing how the humanity abounds here - I'm moved at your posting up replies.
I've been re-employed for just a little over a year now - over-achieving and getting myself promoted, patching things up with my wife, and of course counting my blessings...
I may not haunt these halls like I once did, but I'm the better man for having met the people I did here.
But Daddy's work isn't done yet, so Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Gee, I remember when you wanted to have Kurt's babies... Guess I can't complain if you'd like to preserve the Hungarian bloodlines though. ;) Your cross cultural experience over at CGTalk seems to be paying off, even if you never did hook up with that South African texturing artist. Good stuff.

Looks good - now I'll have to wait another four months to do one... What I want to know is are you using reflective images from Indiana now or are you still using ones from the UK?

Man I wish you threw up the wire frame or the wire frame imposed on the image anyway Im going to open my mouth here (might be the last time) so here goes. Id start working from the first one, first Id soften the shadows on both radial and see how that looked, then Id turn of shadows on each one separately, and then both together, and compare the three outputs. Then Id make sure sun shadows were off and drop a spot casting shadows outside the window and then try it with an array of four or five low level radials casting shadows in the same place outside the window. Then Id start experimenting with ranging the output on the two interior radials and using a gradient, until I had about 20 versions to choose from, and then Id start a slide show with the outputs and start eliminating

RJ's gone and booleaned every pore and hair follicle into his rasta-predatoresque creation and probably has a poly count that's through the roof.
I may have given up light domes for good. Five of my last six posts have rendered out in less than five minutes - 'Amber Myopia' ran longer because the entire groundplane was glass and I was driving light into it. It all evens out though - even though 'The Wurlitzer of Wisdom' rendered in four minutes and thirty seconds, it still took me 84 versions to achieve some sort of balance with Bryce's handling of ambience and transparency.

(Druck gently nudges unlit wine bottle full of gasoline, and un-used fireworks from last night closer to Drac, then runs for cover.)

That's some crazy-fiendish stuff you've got going. Sorry I don't have a better setup (network, lightning, etc.) myself or I'd offer to help.
