from what i have read in the maual release. P5 has all the P4 features and then the aditional addon's so yes if you use p4 models you can run them back and forth. as to useing the P5 models, I would assume (gota love that word ROlls eyes) i would think not. Im sure they will have features and mods not saported in P4. as to cloth, manual states you can use cloth to modify/morph clothing and save as morphs so if you do so and save in P4 format should be useable in P4. Go over to CL and dl the manual it should answer a lot of this questions for you. Hope this helps laters Vel
Thread: Need Help (UVMapper remapping question...) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
to remap you have to save the model as well in UV maper. I tend to save it to same name and add a 1 to the name that way the orridge maping works if needed for other projects. hope this helps Vel

Thread: A tip for anyone who's as dumb as I am...if that's possible. :-) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
sounds to me like a vidio card problem with the render resolution. as to the disk space error. well I run both win2k and xp get it on both. to fix it I go to win temp dir and clear it out deleat every thing in the tmp folder, its seems this fills up and poser complains. i run a MX400 with 64 megs of ram for primary and a tnt pro 32 megs secondary card for second moniter. if i am running poser in the tnt card and try to fool with the resolution while poser is running the card hangs and need to reboot to fix. i dont have the problem on the MX400 card. so sounds like this may be your problem. as for windows Me trash it, its buggy has mem leaks vid problems you name it. If nothing else go back to win 98 SE or go buy XP. XP till you get used to it can seem flaky but is more stable and faster than all the other windows os systems. laters Vel POSER 5 I WANT IT YESTERDAY :)

Any of the major modeling pacakges out there will do the job for you. so find and dl there demos and try them. Find the user interface that makes sence to you in its layout and workflow, doing that will cut your learning cuver inhalf. If you fight the interface becouse it dosent make sence to you will spend far to much time and energy just trying to figure out how to do a simple step rather than thinking about your creation. dl Exsplor have fun. then buy Later Vel hope this helps

Laurie I have Painter6 f/x and design by Sherry London and Rhoda Grossman Publesher Coriolis. the book has a welth of info for some of painters deeper capabiluties for styalised painting and other things it should be helful to you. when buying books for it make sure you get them for version 6, as 5.5 and below of version 7 and up are quiet diferent from each other. So till your used to the interface and where everything is and what it dose other versions will only put you in confusion melt down grin. If I can help let me know will be happy to help in the limited scope I know and use the program for. Laters Vel
Thread: Alittle Vue Magic | Forum: Vue
Hi yep the grass and flowres are done in Painter.
Painter 6 is a great progie :) you will love it for sure with what you can do with it. the grass is sone with a Smiery Brissel spray brush in oils.
Painter is active but not heavaly so so you will need to join a few boards for info on it. most are fooling with painter 7's water color at this time so this is the things you will see mostly but all will be happy to guide you in other areas as well.

Im not that active here in the painter forum as I just found it my self grin but this board and Indepth are my 2 favorit boards. have fun :)
PS for doing textures for your Vue works painter is bout as good as you can get. Im not downing the other programs at all they all work well for this, my meaning is for an artist with traditional background that finds the painting brushes of the other progs to not quit fit there exspectations so Have fun.
this is a painter WIP to be used as a background pic when its finished for thows that may be interested in its capabiluties.
