Well that would do..what I was thinking of was the bronze on outside church buildings. OK its not bronze, its copper :) lol Do you know what I am talking about? It turns bright green from tarnishing. Actually I really like how those metals combined tho, cant wait until they are done :)

Well sign me up...about 5-10 times a year I plan on having some massive animations that need to be rendered for clients. PLUS if I knew about such services and could factor in the render cost before hand I could probably drum up even more 3d work.

Wahoo! Renderosity comes through for me again! I ended up useing both Mark & Chips method. I used the logotest1.zip as a base but then texture mapped some of the 'enviroment blocks' like Chip suggested above. Actually I sort of feel like a dolt..I was so close but yet so far :) Must be how all those scientists felt after they thru the weights off the tower of pisa (sp?) and found out that they fell at the same speed:) Its always easy after you see the obvious..... Thanks Everyone!
Thread: shaders pack | Forum: Carrara
Well if it has good editablity then I'm in :) Of course I have been meaning to buy Clints pack for about 6 months now :) You guys should get together and sell the "Carrara Ultimate Shader Pack" I think the real problem is that I feel bad buying shaders b/c I know I should make them myself. Does the whole American Economic situation revolve around laziness? :)

Wahoo!! Thats it! I just stopped my render..I really like how thats working..come on..share :) I have chips method working but I wasnt able to make a proper alpha...I was going to handpaint one in photoshop. Lucky for me this isnt needed 'till next week. I also started makeing a list for Carrara. Remember how you used to have infi-D and ray dream...one was supposed to be more for art and one was more for broadcast? I am making a list over the next week or so to send to eovia about what would be great for Carrara and Television production. ONce I get the basics in I'll post it and all you other TV people out there can add on :) I liked Chips ideal about just compositing it in Carrara but I cant make it accurate enough and Carrara's interlaceing leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Here is an ideal..how about tarnished bronze (with the green stuff on it) Also are these all proceedural? how adjustable are they? IE can you change how rusty #1 is pretty easily?

Actually it does a lot, but If I start putting things in the background can I still render an alpha around the orginal? With all that variance in the reflection I have a feeling that a standard Luma Key from an editing system will key right through the logo without a proper alpha in place. Ill be playing with this later on today so I'll let you know what I find..Thanks.

Well thanks for the step by step..I feel much better now. I think that was a very useful tip that I will be able to use in other projects. thanks for taking the time to explain :)

You should have been at the chat last night..very informative. The one thing that AC said that may have cemented my relationship with carrara for a long time is that amapi and nendo work along the same basis. Nendo is my modeler of choice but has some limits b/c its a budget program...if amapi is like a hyper advanced nendo then my biggest problem with carrara went away. That is of course after they fix the bugs :)

I love the tile!!! I really need to go get some of those free extentions and play around with them! Actually everything is really cool...is that an ice cube? Very nice! I was an art minor in college, and one thing I never appreciated was the little slice of life paintings...ie fruit, furniture, etc...but In a 3d setting these little pics are very very nice to look at..so much interesting things like reflections to look at :) Good Job.

Here is my hint...dont use the cloud generator built into carrara..it produces weird render errors...it looks good in stills but when you animate it, it leaves little black dots. Its enough to make you spit.

So what are you going to use now? I was thinking about buying poser but if I buy am2000 I dont think I will want poser.
Thread: Okay, another Ray Dream UV question | Forum: Carrara
hmm..its been a bit but I have some questions for you.. Did you use the exact type of map in RD as you did in UVM? IE did you make a planar map in UV but apply it in RD as cyclander map? From the looks of you picture, it looks as if you may just have it all applied funny.
