Congrats to everybody for participating and congratst to sazzyazzca for the first place. If possible I would also like to suggest a voting for the three preferred render in the next challenge. This would help to have less render with the same voting results.

SnowSultan also made some light set. Read the message 24 just below yours here at renderosity. Questor that is well known at Daz also gave some lights set but I do not know if they are still available. You should ask him on the Daz forum. Link below.Thread: Halloween present | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I still need to learn more about modelling and giving free objects is part of the process so if you have suggestions do not hesitate. Can you tell my if the installation works well?

For those that are interested in the outcome here is the answer I get from Questor: ------------------------------------------------------------ Provided they are created by saving your own models it is fine to distribute those parts of the data folder. If however you are intending sharing a character or some other thing that you have created, no you can't. In that case you can only share the .daz scene file itself or pose/material presets and the person you are sharing with needs to have all the components and have saved them in Studio. Rule of thumb, if it's yours you can do what you want with it, if it isn't you can't. and if there will be other answer I also will post them here.

Thanks a lot for your help. I also have posted this in the DazStudio forum and I am still waiting for an answer.
Thread: EXPORT FROM DAZ FORMATS TO OTHERS | Forum: DAZ|Studio
As far as I know there is actually no other format that can be exported apart the wavefront (obj) format. You also can directly import in Bryce and save the content of the scene in Bryce format but I do not think that this will help you more.
Thread: Distributing Material Presets for Standard figures? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Hi nysalor. I already have posted some free texture set for DazStudio here at renderosity (In the free misc section). The textures are included as there are my one work but if you do not want to include them in your package but only the material settings preset it could be tricky as you will not have the textures necessarily at the same location as all the other users.
Thread: Film Noir Challenge Extended! | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thanks this is welcome. I was working on it when DazStudio 1.0 came out. I have to admit that I played with this new toy and forgot the contest for some time. Shame at my! Jacques

Thread: Render quality | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Print quality will more be influenced by the pixel dimensions as by the bucket size and raytrace depth. If you are happy with the picture you can see on your screen you already have a good setting. For a print you need to calculate depending on the Dot Per Inch (DPI) the size of your render. An A4 printed with 300 DPI needs a size of 2480 x 3508 and for an A3 you should use 4960 x 7016. If you want 600DPI you need to double those values. Hope this helps Jacques
Thread: Newbie question | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Render time will depend on lots of parameter. It will depend on the number of objects, lights, reflections shadows, opacity and..... Last parameter also is you computer here the operating system, processor, memory will also play a role. A simple base figure should not take to much time as DazStudio is very fast in rendering so one or two minutes should be fine also with a slow computer. I made a test and could render the base Victoria in 10 seconds but I have 2 GB memory available and there was nothing else in the scene. I do not know if you will find somebody to buy you the head/body morph for Vicky but you will find lots of useful stuff in the free stuff, Poser, Morph Targets here at renderosity. You also should play with Victoria that is in the base content to download for free with DazStudio. If you select the head you will notice that there are some head morphs already with here. Maybe this will already fits your needs. Have fun with your render and learn as much as you can Jacques
