Thread: Still no word or confirmation...anyone else? | Forum: Vue
Update: I just received an email from e-onsoftware that my copy has been shipped today (Wed). Considering when I put the order in, I'd bet everyone who has had an order in by 10 or 11 AM, got theirs shipped today, too. Maybe just now, there is a flood of emails going out to purchasers... :) Norm

I ordered last night. I haven't checked the web site, but my card was charged already. I do have an Order#, but I flat forgot to bring it with me, and now I'm out in the field until around 3:30 AM. I have received no emails at all, so far in the process, though. But I think also, that it's just that they're swamped. Norm

You know, this product is really filling a little 3D void area. They've gone to great lengths to insure compatibility with every major format, and then some. I sure wish them the best of luck! Now that I've ordered, I'm sitting here drooling over the possibilities.. I stopped work on a scene I had already started, using a donated item from Sam's 3D (thank you, Sharen!), and I'll pick it up in Vue Pro again. Someone indicated earlier a problem getting an Order#. Mine showed up in either the 2nd or 3rd screen; several screens before I got to the payment screen, in fact. Thanks, Norm

My gosh! I never got a response from Renderosity when I pushed the post button to submit my reply! I honestly gave up after waiting something 6-7 minutes. And the thing accepted them all! Good grief! My apologies to all, although I gotta say, I got tired of waiting!! I'm only going to push the button once this time. Here I go...... . . . . . Thanks, Norm

Here's a link to the exact product you are looking for: http://www.poserpros.com/store/viewitem.php?selitem=529&start=0&selcat=170&selsub=0 The weight maps offered there as a separate product, are included in the poser-LW product, so you don't have to get both. Norm

Geez, I forgot this: How about compatibility with WinXP Pro? ..... That's probably an unanswerable question, though. THAT may be the stumbling block... Norm

That was interesting about GMax. Microsoft has even posted links to that program on their website, as it is used to create 3D objects for some of their 3D games, most notably MS Train Simulator. People use it to create boxcars, and all that sort of stuff. They might even have more applications; it's been over a year since I was looking at the game site on MS. Norm
Thread: I am afraid of Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I'm a new P5 owner; also have P4Pro. I installed P5 on the same machine, but on a different HDD. I just gotta say, that Firefly renderer is pretty good, compared to straight P4 rendering. I have a Millenium figure with some velvet material. I loaded a P4 version straight into Vue, then an OBJ version that came out of P5, into the same scene. The velvet, plus expected fabric wrinkles along the legs came out INCREDIBLE! when compared to the P4 figure, right alongside of it, in the scene. You couldn't tell what kind of material it was, and it just came across as a solid blob of red, in P4, with maybe a hint of the folds (or wrinkles). One strange side effect, a small portion of the chest showed through the P5 version, which was not the case in the P4 version. And this was a conforming clothing item from Renderosity. Easily fixed, but still showing the difference in "interpretation" - for want of a better word, between the 2 versions. One P.I.T.A. problem with the P5 OBJ in Vue though: It asked me where all those materials were, and I had to navigate for each one. I gotta take care of that. But maybe the upcoming Vue update will erase the need to do that. I sure wish the upcoming Vue update would work with the Materials Room settings, though. Those are nice! Overdue, in fact. Norm

Gracia: I'm sorry, I forgot to add that I will even give you your own domain name for your web site, for free. If you have a domain name for a website you would like to use, just let me know; you'll have it in no time! Either way, no problem at all; I'll set up a place for you. How about 1 GB, is that enough? For this, and my earlier post a few minutes ago, why don't you email me if you'd like some more space, at: norm@normanspaulding.com Thanks, Norm

GRACIA: If you still want to create more of these INCREDIBLE objects, I can give you ALL the SPACE you need! I own a web hosting business, so nobody can tell me not to! Please let me know. I'll be only too glad to do it!!! Thanks, Norm
