I'm passing on HDR. Just not fast enough and difficult to wield good results.

Ah. I did and that worked. I see how it seems less cold now. Thanks!

I'll have to look into how to do that in Photoshop CS. Not sure off of the top of my head.

It's actually not this project that is getting the night treatment. It's the next project, which I start Monday. I'll definitely have a WIP thread for that as well. You guys are invaluable as a resource and I appreciate everyone's help.

I will be using GI for sure. I should have about 2 weeks to render 3 day and 3 night images. I may bring in my home PC and make a rendercow at work to help with the rendering. Thx for the tips guys. If ya got em, keep em comin. BTW, all this stuff will go on my Vue Realism page I'm making. It'll be a guide for how to create the most realistic renders possible with Vue. Tips for night scenes would be a good addition. I should probably start building my atmosphere and lighting at home with an example building...

If you do, you will have a much better time controling your light precisely with the inclusion / exclusion lists. Not sure I understand, but yes, have Infinite. You could just change the sun color to white or whatever color moonlight is... goes to check Thx btw.

So one could essentially bake everything in his scene and use a standard atmosphere? Nice!

No, it is. Anything I've imported from a 3DS does this when in automatic mapping mode. It makes sense that the bump wont show up either in automatic mapping mode! You are THE MAN!

Diolma, Thx for the comments. I'm adding probably 2 more cars in the final to help with this. The lady walking was only positioned like that due to her shading/shadowing on the bitmap. I may still add more people too. I'm basically trying to get this as nice as possible so that I can render it over the weekend while I'm away.

Ended up being a geometry issue. Once I reimported it was fine. Hell yeah.

Try #1 Ok, so increasing the GI made it even worse. Next step, I'll try to change that material...maybe it's affecting the entire file.

MAAAAAAAAAAAAN increasing the quality of the GI impacts your render time. I had at at 640x480 user settings and GI at -1.0 and it took 40 mins. Upgrade it to +0.2 (+ 1.0 had estimated 6 hrs) and it's taking about 2 and a half hrs. :(

...just did a test to see if it was img size related and it isn't. Rendered out one at lower quality and the same exact major problem areas exist. Maybe its an indirect lighting issue. I will now try changing the quality of GI to +1.0 instead of -1.0. Maybe that'll do the trick.
