In case anyone's interested, I have an Afro trans map for the Flat Top available on my site.Thread: Vicky 3 to Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
xenic101, you're thinking about the Turbo Importer for Bryce which updates the Bryce OBJ Importer plugin. When you export the OBJ from DAZ Studio, it adds extra information to the MTL file so that when imported into Bryce with the Turbo Importer installed, the bump map settings are correct, transparency maps are applied, etc.

Thread: Can't get some clothes to turbo import into Bryce5 | Forum: Bryce
As AS mentioned, there is some problems with the DS export. Sometimes it exports everything and sometimes it loses things, most often hair, but sometimes clothing. Sometimes, re-exporting it from DS again takes care of the problem. This has been reported as a DS bug several times, including by me.

The upgrade was $29.95 (or $23.95 if you got it during the initial introduction). Don't you think you've gotten $19.95 of worth out of her during the time you've had her?

It's a store default, artnik. They won't charge your account. I've had the same thing happen at other online stores so it's not just a DAZ thing either.

Thread: DAZ Bryce 5.5 screen shots | Forum: Bryce
Atomic_Anvil, many companies give away older versions of programs. It gives people a chance to try an older version and hopefully decide to upgrade. That's how I got Painter 5, Vue 2, trueSpace 2 & 3, Cinema 4D CE6, and more. I now have Painter 7, tS 6, and C4D 9, none of which I'd have considered if I hadn't received a free version first to try out. DAZ is not going to break "Bryce up into several smaller apps so that they can sell each piece seperately". They've said this several times. Bryce 5.5 is going to decrease render times and allow you to bring in figures from DAZ Studio much easier and modify them later if needed. There are also some other new things but we haven't been authorized to talk about. And remember folks, when you make changes to software code, either to add features or optimize code, there are things that may not work right and that has to be tested and fixed. That may affect some other feature, which has to be run down, fixed, and tested. Draculaz, there are no major changes to the GUI so screen shots aren't going to show anything. Give them time to make sure the program is stable before releasing it to all of us Bryce addicts.

I found a copy of Crossroads on some backup disks and installed it. I read the license agreement and it allows the program to be redistributed as long as it's not charged for. So ... I've placed it my site, available for download. It will be there as long as my host doesn't scream about bandwidth.Thread: Cool! I got Bryce 4...but | Forum: Bryce
Ah, you're exporting from Poser. If you're not exporting from DS, then the Turbo Importer can't help much. DS adds extra information to the MTL file that the Turbo Importer interprets and applies. Poser doesn't give the importer all the information it needs to set everything correctly. DAZ has given this information to CL but I don't know if they're planning on implementing it. There hasn't been much of a clamor requesting it from them.
Thread: A plea to product creators. Corqect your image references :( | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not saying that :Runtime:Textures: shouldn't be in front of the pathname, it should, but it's more important that names be unique.
Thread: A plea to product creators. Corqect your image references :( | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was on the store staff at 3DC for a couple of years and a store tester and we came up against this all the time. Full pathnames are a requirement for Poser products there and it never made a difference if the texture was named the same as another texture that the tester or customer had installed in another folder that came before the folder for the product we were testing. I've also come across this same thing several times over almost four years of reviewing Poser products at In Depth Arts.

Even putting :Runtime:Textures: in front of the pathname will not ensure that the correct texture is loaded. Poser will load the first texture it finds with that name no matter what pathname is in front of it. That's why anyone who makes stuff for Poser should give the textures unique names. That way, Poser will always load the correct texture since it will not find another texture with the same name.
