Thread: Rendering Artist: What is the Job Title | Forum: Vue
oh! Look at that, what a co-incident! I know photoshop too! :-) Ok Scott, 'maybe' sound like a better answer - 3d artist. Perhaps, 3d grapics artis? Computer Graphics Artists? The bottom line for me, as long as I'm having fun with this, name really not important. :-)

Very nice! The sand actually looks like sand! and the wave looks great too. P.S. Guitta, could you spare few minutes and give me a small tut on how you made those beautiful waves, in your free wave scene? pls. :-)
Thread: couple newbie questions, sorry! | Forum: Vue
For the low altitude fog you can just play around 'Fog & Haze' (falloff & altitude) in atmosphere editor. But, if you need the fog in only at certain place, you could use few volumetric spot light (w/light gel) layed down horizontaly... but this works only at night scene though. I know "smallspace" had a tutorial on this, in this forum, unfortunately I couldn't find the link anywhere. PS. eb, that's a very tempting offer from forester, I wouldn't say no to it. :-)

Thread: Just about had it. | Forum: Vue
I'm with Djeser, as I also run Vue in PC and agree with what he said. Few pointers, even though not sure whether they will be helpful for your case in Mac! In PC - If Vue crashes with no particular reason, while you working or opening or saving ... mostly it would be the O/S is not cooperating with Vue. If it crashes in perticular operation only (ie, terrain editor), it might be some corrupted Vue drivers or bugs. If Vue freezes up and gives you "hard error" or "fatal error", randomly & often, it could easily be guesses as a hardware/driver related issue. The bottom line is something or someone in your computer is not liking Vue! I THINK, the bet would be, (I'm sure you know this, but I'm writing it anyhow) Uninstall Vue, do a file search and delete everything that has Vue name in it in your comp. Update all your drivers and O/S ... or at least check. Close all programs as advised (most particularly anti-virus or anything like that, which runs in the background). Then install, followed by updates. (don't know what is "cocktail" or "prebinding", so can't say anything about that.) In any case, hope you get to enjoy Vue soon.
Thread: Adding additional terrain | Forum: Vue
If you add the sandy terrains in front of the tree line and then move the camera slightly up and then face it slightly downward, that should do it. Obviously the terrains should be flattened, cuz they are almost the same as sea level. And from terrain editor make your terrains 512*512, for better resolution. Someone else might have a better suggestion. Regards. P.S. Great work by the way, specially for second image.

wow! Charles, it's a state of the art tutorial. Not only to the point, but also very easy to understand. Just went through it once, many things are clear to me now. Thanks.
Thread: Question about reflecting issue. | Forum: Vue
:-) tell me about it!!! I mixed Shasta Water + Channel Water + Mercury with reflection value 100% and transparency value 0% ... weird combination, but it's a weird experiment to begin with! :-)
Thread: Question about reflecting issue. | Forum: Vue

Thread: Question about reflecting issue. | Forum: Vue
Yes Guitta, that's where I started the whole thing! :-) Charles, thanks, yes that was a problem, but I then made the blur to 0% and set fog to 0% also. Anyway, not an important matter, just thought you guys might have an answer for me! :-) It was a stupid experiment to begin with! :-)
Thread: A concern ... | Forum: Vue
now now! no need to get all worked up here! :-) I saw all the comments, I know you were replying to "memofear"! :-) I certainly wasn't reffering to you. If Guitta yelled at you, then I'm sure she missed the first comment! But, you can't blame her either! She is terribly busy person. :-) Anyway, it's been taken care of and no need to push it any ferther. Let's hope our little world stay friendly as it is always been. Regards.
