Yup My next barrage will be there, But I have alterior motives, I am trying to incite wide scale wackyness. The other night I was going trough the poser gallery. I started seeing the same image over and over. It was not actualy the same image you understand, but it started to feel like it. All of these great renders of characters in the same cover shot poses. You have the warrior looking all mean or heroic standing there in his menacing or heroic pose. Next you have the cover girl shot, countless numbers, Then you have the regal pose, Kings and queens all lined up of for family portraits. Finally you have the fairy contingent. If you look you will see very little in the way of dynamics. wyrmaster creates stunning characters. Yet 99.9 percent of the time they are covergirl poses singular or in a group. So I figured it's time to try amd get some of these people to let loose and I figured humor is a worthy cause. I remember a while back I did a very elaborate and highly atmospheric bryce render of Flying Turtles. To my surprise Delphi took the image and ran with it, using it to highlight their Bryce forums and gallaries. It was a great visual rendering but no more so than any of the good landscapes you see here. What set it apart was the wacky theme for the image. The thing I have above is a quicky, just as an example lets see where it leads.

Thread: Wait for Bryce 5 or get World builder 3.0? | Forum: Bryce
World Builder if you have Lightwave, It works as a plugin to LW. The biggest drawback is Bryces inability to export anything but terrains. Hopefully Bryce 5 will have full export functionality. They are going to release a new version of world builder that is said to be realy improved as well.

The way of getting rid of the oily look is to set the highlight color to Black, and or the specularity color to black.

Let me give you a hint. Instead of importing your character into bryce and going through the texturing headache. First create your Landscape in bryce. Render out the image. Then import it into poser as a backdrop image and pose and renderout the final from poser. Useing a similar texture for the ground in poser will yeild a the image you seek. Your porblem is with your lighting and the fact that bryce uses a raytrace renderer. This makes metallics a bit of a problem. As Bryce treats reflections differently depending on angle, sky color, etc.
Thread: Virus in the preditor download!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Do not take any chances, use your anti-virus software and clean the file! Macafee and Norton (Symantic) spend millions per year Identifying virus code. If your scanning sw says it has found virus code in a file. Then the chance that it is a virus is 99%. I need not remind you that many computer viruses lay dormant fo quite a while. Why take the risk. The provider of the file should remove it clean it and repost. Finally waiting for something to happen is just asking for a infected system. Usually by the time you notice any effects of a virus, the damage has been done. There have been certain Microsoft Word macro's that have in the past triggered false virus alerts, but these have been long addressed.
Thread: Is this normal? | Forum: Bryce
The Bryce ray tracing engine is painfully slow. High poly models and even worse Transparent or volumetric materials force the engine into hyper calculation mode. It slows rendering to a crawl. While I have not yet modeled anything that took 90 hours to render a single frame I can see it happening. Bryce does not utilize hardware rendering available on todays graphics cards, so rendering times are not going to be stellar. Also I have found that rendering times do not shorten appreciably on a 1Ghz 512 Meg 133fsb PIII machine. So the bottleneck has to be in the software. The way Bryce deals with shadows makes multiple lights necessary to get certain effects and quality. Once you render a similar image in a program like Lightwave you see how slow Bryce really is.

Yup, you need a well exposed flat straight on head shot. This is not as easy as it sounds as face front photos are not the fav of a pro photographers repertouis.
Thread: Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The problem you will find is that the viewing window in poser gets only so big before it starts covering all of the controls. That is the biggest pain about the program doing large projects. The window does not give you a large feild of view. You can zoom back but then your detail gets so small that object selection gets tricky.
Thread: I Need help..... and not in the good way! | Forum: Bryce
The thing is it never will or can line up. The only way it would work is if you left a equal space on all sides of the center character. But then he would be levitating inside the green guy. But since the feet of the shell and the base guy have to be even with the floor. The perspective get all messed up. I.E. the outer characters legs are longer as well a wider and deeper. The easiest way to do what you need is to not sweat the exact proportions of the outer shape. Do not scale the outer guy exactly the same in all directions. Of course since the pose has multiple items living in different planes this gets tricky. Since the outer shell does not have to be perfect and seamless. I suggest you ungroup the outer shell. And build it onto the central character peice by peice. Resize each leg, arm, sword etc. Speerately over the central character. Tis could take a to of time but it will work where working the entire outer shell as one object can not work.
Thread: kpt with photoshop | Forum: Photoshop
There are changes made to the windows registry when you install KPT. Just copying over the plugins does not mean Photoshop will read them in. Also Some versions of KPT are only compatible with some versions of photoshop.

My vote goes to dreamweaver. I utilizes a plugin extension architecture and there are a ton of neat extensions as well as tight integration with Flash and Shockwave.
