If the texture entry in the CR2/PP2 file specifies a path, it uses that, provided it is one under the poserruntime directory. If it isn't or is only a filename, is assumes poserruntimetextures as a default since this is where Poser also looks by default. Specifying a folder for textures inbound might be a good idea and something to consider for future versions. Since these are early, almost anything is possible at this point. Well, almost anything ;)
Thread: Looking for fabrics? | Forum: Bryce
I have a shareware tool that might really do the trick for what you are doing with the fabrics. Its called xfader and I use it frequently for taking existing textures and making them tileable. Check out the info on it here: http://www.pegtop.de/xfader.htm Sweet little app, easy to use and small to DL. If I remember right its around $20 to register. For me, its been worth every penny. Textures for 3d is not its only use...think web site backgrounds, desktop textures...etc.

All the way to the right in the palette at the edge. Bottom button, looks like a grid with down pointing triangle, where you adjust your wireframe resolutions. Its in that menu.

Sorry, forgot to tell you that you will need the VB6 runtimes. If you don't have them already installed, the program won't start, in that case, download these: http://www.wolfiesden.com/cgi-bin/downlist/dlister.dl.cgi?files/vb6run12031999.EXE You only need these once and they work for all VB6 apps, mine or anyone elses.

Well, tell ya what, I whipped up a little converter program for you. It will take your Terragen *.TER files and convert them to PGM (portable greyscale map) which is readable by most image editors and is directly readable by Bryce4. I don't have a copy of Bryce3 left installed anywhere so I am not positive it will import directly. If need be, I can add a BMP output from the program but you will loose some detail as BMP can only carry 256 levels of grey while PGM and the TER files both are capable of 65536. Here is the link to download the setup app, no link on my page to it yet: http://www.wolfiesden.com/cgi-bin/downlist/dlister.dl.cgi?files/ter2pgmsetup.exe

FYI..you can reverse the process and take Bryce terrains into Terragen. Open the Terrain editor, press CTL-C to copy the current terrain. Open PSP, paste as a new image. IMPORTATNT: Resize the image to 257x257 (no options here). Save out as RAW, Greyscale, and bottom up (flipped). Import into Terragen.

The size of the DXF is NOT a factor. I frequently work with DXFs that are 50mb and up with no problems. I use terragen 0.7.28. It has an export button on the terrain window. Export to "Raw 8 Bits". Using PSP (or similar image editor), you will need to import the .RAW file you saved from terragen. It will be 257x257, greyscale and bottom up (flipped). PSP opens the files just fine. Save it back out as a BMP. Open Bryce, create a terrain, go into the Terrain Editor and load the BMP you saved out from PSP. Voila! Terragen terrain in Bryce, no screwing around, no huge DXFs.
Thread: How to edit a motion path | Forum: Bryce
If I understand your concept, you are trying to make one of those devices that has 5 or so steel balls each suspended on a triangular frame supported by a open rectangular frame, yes? If so, you are not really dealing with motion paths at all. Form a group of the first ball and it's support. You will need to turn on the origin handle for that group. Then shift the origin handle vertically until it aligns with the pivot point of the support. Then all you do is rotate the group and it will rotate about that pivot point. Make keyframes for the movement and do the same for the ball/support at the opposite end. I threw together a quick object for you to visualize what I am talking about. Download it here: http://www.wolfiesden.com/cgi-bin/downlist/browse.dl.cgi?Ball_Support.zip

Try turning AutoLOD off. I have rendered wireframe animations many times and never seen the box thing you speak of. To correct your note, you shift-click on the checkmark in the "Render Animation" dialog window.
