Steve will tell yah, I was one of those that emailed him a couple of months ago begging that he continue to support V2. I'm using V3 for some things now because of clothing styles I have purchased which are V3 specific. When looking through the Marketplace for purchasing, I do look for Packages which state that have versions of the clothing for both V2 and V3, though there aren't many of those. V2 still has a lot more clothes than V3 (and V3 has SO much fewer Free items). I prefer V2 because she's easier to use (I hate Morph Injection, it clutters up my Pose folder). However V3 does pose better. I purchased the Clothing converter, but haven't even installed it. I suppose even though the idea is really cool, actually going into the program and working with the clothing, is intimidating to me. sigh And it's not like I'm tackling converting a Posette costume to V3....just converting from V2 to V3. I have Mike 3 but haven't installed him (yuck, more folders to clutter my Pose Folder!). And there's not nearly enough clothing for Mike2 or Mike3 (hint, sexy, fetish type oriented clothing, or cool cyberwear). I guess what I'm saying is that I'd LOVE to have V3 versions of some of the great V2 clothes I have. I'd also like to see more Free V3 clothing, it seems the vast majority of clothing for V3 is for sale (though I understand the economy these days and we could all use an extra buck or two.) grin Steve, while you're here, V3 needs some more boots for variety (different lengths. I don't have any thigh highs).......and gloves of different kinds or arm bands. I've taken some Saloon Girl items and applied leather textures to them to get Fetish clothing piece for V2......oh, just wishing........ Liz Pope Latexluv

I am a minimalist. I like to see what I can push Poser to do and reserve Postworking for smoothing out a bad joint like knees or elbows, and occassionally a special effect (though recently I've been collecting some Poser props that are special effects, fog, fire, lens flares, ect). I am entrhalled by those who can hand paint hair on their figures after rendering. But at the moment, I'm learning the usage of spotlights. I have astonished a few people in the gallery with a couple of my images that came right out of Poser, required no post work, and all I needed to do was place my logo on the image and convert from tiff to jpg (I always save in tiff format out of Poser). Stealth1701, if you'd like to see what can be done and posted as a Pure Poser render, please follow the link. Though I love some images that I know are heavily postworked, the Poser program itself can produce some cool work without a bunch of bells and whistles. Thread: NEEDED: Tutorial for Poser Creation in Amapi 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks Graham, I'm cutting and pasting this and sending it to my friend. I'm supposing the program will come in the mail tomorrow. Supposed to be new in the box and hopefully has it's manual. The Carrara was new and still shrink wrapped. Huge manual in there, it weighs a ton. She's made me some great props, some spiked wrist bands just tonight. She'll be in the market for a better computer too in a couple of months, so I hope we'll really be cooking. She can't find in Amapi 5 how to assign groups and material zones so I've been doing that in UVMapper (don't have pro, yet). I was pretty familiar with UVMapper, but had never done assigning of groups and material zones, so I'm learning a new trick. If you're interested, you can check out my gallery and see a few of talisman018's props on my figures. I just finished a render tonight using the spiked bracelets. Thanks again for that very, very important information!!! Liz

P.S. I also got a great deal on Carrara 2, so we're hoping between one of the programs we can actually make some clothing eventually. Liz

Got a link there for me brycetech? We attempted to load a free Quicksuit for V3 and cut some holes in it as an experiment. But she has Amapi 5 and I had to convert obj to 3ds (which probably gave us problems), then Amapi 5 was scaling and flipping everything upside down and it was a pretty disappointing mess. Amapi 6 has direct obj import and so we're hoping to have less trouble but are worried about the flipping and scaling problems. Since Amapi 6 hasn't arrived in the mail yet, we haven't had a look at the manual for it. Liz

I use a package from the Marketplace by pHil Rittenhouse, called Atmosphere. There's also a simple fog prop by Coelus in the Free Downloads, and one by Trekkie Girl I believe. You can get very convincing fog effects using these various plane. If you follow the link, you'll see an example of pure Poser Special Effects fog. In this image, I used the curved plane behind her and the flat plan at knee height and tilted at an angle so that the two planes intersected. One good hint to remember, click on the plane for it's properties and turn off cast shadows, that seemed to me to produce a more realistic effect. Following SamTherapy's advice, you can produce Fire effects and lens flares as well. I've created a Fire Effect to use sometime. Ah, my friend, you should view some erotic Japanese Anime sometime. And there is quite a following over here for Jap Anime, however few know about some of the restrictions on depictions over in Japan that brought about the cute toon girls that abound in Anime. It is legal to portray nude females, however not legal to portray pubic hair (thank some Post WWII western ideas rubbing off over there). So, though the tune girls in Japan are mostly understood to be of age (western concept), they appear to us Westerners and Europeans to be under the age of 12 in some cases. I have some of the erotic Anime, but prefer some of the other heavy duty story/concept Anime, in particular I like their beautiful males who are usually the villans (which seems to be another concept over there, the more evil the villan, the more beautiful the figure and accompanying clothing is). Personally, I'm not wild about the Poser toon girls. I like the photo-realistic V2/V3/M2 figures because I most want to produce art like Royo. Just my quarter's worth. Liz Pope

Hon, I started out with Poser 3. A friend gave me the disk because he'd upgraded to P4, unfortunately he'd lost the book for it. I did what you're doing now, stared at the program and just started clicking on things to see what they did. Just take it easy, play with it, and pretty soon you'll find you're addicted. Liz

Okay, there is a way to fix this because I just experienced this problem with a PhilC conforming figure. What you do is import the obj into the Poser with nothing checked on the import options pop up. Now the obj should come into the studio. Now, you're going to export this back out, saving as the original obj name and position in the geomentry file. Tick only the obj. Crucial part here is when the next popup comes up for exporting. Tick only these boxes: "Include only existing groups in polygon groups" and "As Morph Target (no world transformations). Once you've done that. Delete the existing rsr file that Poser made the last time, and the mtl file you'll get from exporting. Important part again: Close Poser down. Reopen Poser and click on your cr2 in the library. This worked for me in getting PhilC's free side lace up pants to come into Poser correctly. (Some of these tricks were learned from the short tutorial on how to get Tenten on V3) Hope this helps and hope you can follow my instructions. Liz

Thread: Someone's using Renderosity member names for suspicious e-mails | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I received several such emails from 'member' names know here on the site, containing a virus. But this was way back in November. Sounds like its started up again. Always be careful of an email with an attachment, even if you know the senders name because of the unfortante things going on with these most recent viruses and trojans. If I'm in contact with someone where through IM, I use the function to send email from this site and not from my mail box, or in IM ask if I may send something to someone. This is a sad fact of net mail communication now. Liz
