Oh RATS, I thought that Poser 5 WOULD "copy paste" the way I read this... I always wished Poser could copy-paste an object or part in a scene... copy or duplicate... it SAYS copy and paste in Poser 4... has anyone ever been able to copy and past something in Poser? Lyne

In Bryce, if you load the extra mountain objects into the Create Library, there are some really nice mountain ranges in there!! (at least with bryce 4.. I don't have 5) Lyne

Well I am on the "arthur" renderosity server... so I can't get to that message without getting into the SLOW server.. sigh... I wanted to add a vote for more plants too... (not so much trees, but plants!!) Forgive me that I can't get into the other server!!! Lyne

Hmmmm I tried to answer this post earlier today, and I did get a lost connection here at rosity.. I am on the "arthur" server now, and that seems to be much faster... so will try again! :) I am running my ever steady win98SE (makes a difference if it is se, (second edition) AND that it is OEM -original version bought by the person who built my machine, and not configured for a particular kind of computer!!!) ... I have the 512MB of ram, which did very much make a difference when I came up from 256.... since then I have simply learned to do one figure (especially dressed, which then makes 2 figures) like I want it.. then save as a pz3, close poser.. open.. do the next character I am planning for my scene.. save pz3 again.. then import EACH pz3 character into Vue 4.. which can handle mulitple mapped figures, trans maps (eyes especially, not like Bryce!) just fine! Then I can make a scene in the "real" outdoors as I like.. I think that Poser 5 is supposed to address this situation.. IF you run win2k or NT (which I do NOT plan on doing since those os's are sooo finiky with hardware and software) it may help? Only time and the future P5 users will tell.. I plan to watch the forums closely to see!! (but then I am not going to buy P5 and not be able to reinstall it on a holidy, weekend.. etc.. with that code thing.. I am honest.. but I refuse to be held hostage to that sort of thing... yes, my win98 is steady.. but I do have drives die, etc.. and need to reinstall things now and then... but this is another thread... I do plan on removing all the dragon BUM maps like thgeisel said.. good suggestion!! I have always felt that bump maps do not make all that much difference in most cases, and my Vue 4 does not recognize them anyway. Now, I just need to envision a really great multiple dragon scene.. and do it! :)) Lyne

This is interesting.. I just went to the DAZ store, while this page is open, and it loaded fast.. and I could go to the dragon page.. I bought the dragon yesterday without a hitch.. Today I came to 'rosity and saw the "arthur.renderosity.com" server for just browsing the forums.. it is much faster and a pleasure... (I'm on that server now) I wonder if there is a problem on the 'net in general in certain areas, that on top of a slow 'rosity and an off and on DAZ new servers could just be making things messy off an on? Yuma is a beautiful map, professionally done... which renders perfectly in Poser 4.3 and Vue 4... I bought this map after seeing Yuma in art for a very long time, and have not seen anyone else have these problems.... so it's probably the software? Lyne

I had a huge texture map for one of my vicki figures, so I just resized it 50% down in photoshop and then it did not choke up on me, when I added clothing.. sounds like an idea for the dragon maps if needed.. The loss of quality was not THAT noticeable for full body views.. might be if it was a face portrait.. Lyne

Looks like the site is over loaded, and the new way of shopping takes a bit of learning...so I am going to wait impatiently till TUESDAY (HOLIDAY MONDAY REMEMBER!!) when I can call DAZ if I have trouble.. but bet it is all fixed by then.. this IS the ultimate dragon!!! ooooooo!! Lyne

As I asked in a different thread..if we HONEST users go through all this to get our new P5 activated, can we note the activation code and use it again if we need to reinstall OR do we have to call Curious Labs again?? (and I would have to call.. I don't put software of any import on my "internet machine")... If I have to call for every install I am seriously considering if I "need" P5 at all... And I do not know if my other question was EVER answered.. CL.. for us folks who have no time to BUILD a character in the face room with your thousands of dials, will you allow 3rd party talents to create pre-set mapped characters of your new mesh man and woman and offer those library characters for sale?
