Hello All, Well, I tried everyone's tips and am still getting the "blues". I'll put together an example of what I'm trying to do and post it. I think it isn't possible to do...yet...but we'll see. hdrider

Thread: Vickies Head Floats off????What's up with that!!?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello, I had the same problems with the Polyette figure. I used MorphManager to install the morphs instead of directly importing them in Poser. Seemed to cure the problem. hdrider

bloodsong and all, I use this program called UltraEdit. I've put some really big files into it and so far it hasn't choked. It works with text files as well as exe or whatever. www.ultraedit.com Later, hdrider

Hello, It depends on where you ordered it from. I live in Iowa also and I ordered if from France (Paris is their home base) and it took exactly ten days. Side Note: You're gonna love it! Later, hdrider

Bloodsong, Hmm..too bad there isn't a utility or something that will modify the mtllib file to point to correct textures path. I usually have to have two versions of the image maps, which is kind of a pain. Hand modifying the mtllib file isn't the easiest either. Just a thought. hdrider

Thread: New Graphics Card | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
nerd, I have Vue3 and Bryce 4. Still don't see any speedup. Could be just me. I was expecting something close to the speed of light. Or there abouts. hdrider Also, anyone know of a benchmark program for AGP cards? Curious to see how fast this bugger really is.

Thread: New Graphics Card | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello All, Well, I decided to go with the 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 AGP card. I've always liked STB stuff and the price is right. There is a $30 rebate on them right now. I got it this evening and it only took me about a half hour to have everything installed and up and running. So far so good. The only thing is I really don't notice any speed as far as rendering goes. Probably need to set it up right. Still learning. Again, thank everyone for your help. I don't know what I would do without this forum and fine group of people. Probably waste a lot of time and moolah. hdrider

CharlieBrown, Thanks. I need all the info I can get. I haven't shopped for a new video card for some time. I do play games, but most of them aren't of the opengl variety so that's not a great concern. I would like something that does 3D programs a bit faster and yet I can play the occasional game - just to relax a bit you know. My main concern here is if the card I get will work in my system. Thanks, hdrider

Marc, Thanks. I've been very happy with STB cards over the years but since they merged with 3dfx, I think they may be slipping in customer relations. I emailed them about a week ago with questions about their cards and haven't recieved a reply yet. I did visit ATI's site and it is quite impressive. But still, I like Nvidia. Right now I'm running an older Riva 128, which has served me faithfully for several years. Jeesh, so may cards so many decisions! hdrider

Thread: Getting rid of custom Materials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hello, Here's what I've done in the past to get rid of some of the unwanted materials. If you are familiar with editing the cr2 file that is. Backup the the cr2 file you are editing, just in case. If you've changed the object file, delete the associated rsr file. Edit the file and go to the bottom where it lists the materials for the body parts - skin, eyes, etc. Delete the ones you want or all of them. Be aware of the { and } brackets. Save it. Now when you run Poser and load the cr2, it will rebuild the materials from the rsr file. The only problem I've had with this is that sometimes it puts the Preview material first in the list. Think maybe this has to do with a body part not having a material assigned to it (?) Hope this helps some. hdrider

Thread: Poser 4 memory problems and a couple questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Darhorn, Just my two cents. I've found that the bigger the texture files, the slower Poser loads models. Even have had it lock up on really big ones. The large texture maps are nice, quality wise, but I usually try to keep mine at 1000x1000. If I render in a different program, I use the bigger ones. Especially for closeups. hdrider

Thread: Polyette available | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Diane, That'll work more than likely. The reason I remapped it is beacuse I didn't want to have to make new texture maps just for this model. This is in the category of "Why didn't I think of this"! If I get permission, I could just upload the UVmapper uvs file. You could then just load it up and save it out. hdrider

Thread: Polyette available | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Diane, Here's what I did: 1) Took the original Polyette model into UVmapper (You might want to backup the original) 2) Use the select group in the menu and select the neck 3) Select the frame around neck and resize it and move it down a bit 4) Save the model If you save it under a different name, you'll have to edit the cr2 to point to it. Also, if you already have loaded the Polyette fogure in Poser, you'll have to delete the Polyette rsr in the geometries folder. Hope this helps hdrider

Thread: Polyette available | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
WarriorDL, Excellent job on the body/head blend. When I first got Victoria and before the clothes pack came out, I tried to merge Vickie's head with the P4 woman with very limited success. I finally gave up. One thing though. Polyette's neck isn't mapped quite right. I fixed it by using UVmapper and shrunk the neck down to fit the P4 woman's template. Works great now. Just to toot my own horn a bit. Hmm..that doesn't sound right. Anyways, I've uploaded a P4 woman texture of Staale's that I converted for Victoria. It works really well in combination with the original for Polyette. Later, hdrider

nerd, Very interesting. I've been messing with this EMC thing but am kind of lost. I was wondering if you could post the .cr2 for this model with commented lines as to what does what. Sometimes I have to look at map to know where I'm at. Thanks jJ
