For the above samples I used stock Egyptian Victoria, the only pose change was to lower her arms to her side, I used a simple three light set up: Overhead light X Trans 0.00, Y Trans 220.00, Z Trans 60.00 X Rot -35.00, Y Rot 0.00, Z Rot 0.00 Footlight X Trans 0.00, Y Trans 60.00 Z Trans 30.00 X Rot 15.00, Y Rot 0.00, Z Rot 0.00 Backlight X Trans 0.00, Y Trans 180.00, Z Trans -100.00 X Rot -108.52, Y Rot 0.00 Z Rot 0.00 Casey, the Old Newbie

Practice, if the movements are in degrees try 90 first, then see if you want to go more or less, or maybe go -90, if the movements are linear try somethoing along the line of 30 or 40 first, then see if that is enough or maybe too much. as an example, a new light starts out at floor level centered where the objects all first arrive, try moving it y +250 that will place it overhead then move it like z +60 and that will make a scene illumination, rotating it something like x -30 should give great lighting for a sunlight effect. The same method can be used for an added camera, i usually add one i call pose camera and use it instead of the perspective cam for my prefered shots, i find it easier to move it using the numbers typed into the sliders. Have you tried right clicking on the dial and then entering a value? Works great for me and gives me the control I want. Casey, the Old Newbie
Thread: Adding Content | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I read the following in a DAZ forum and found it helpful, hope it helps you too. Posts: 1732 Location: UK DAZ Brokered Artist Posted: 30 Jun 2004 11:13 Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assuming you don't have Poser, and assuming that the items are zipped up with their folder structure intact (if they are just a bunch of files with no location information you will need to check the Readme or put them aside for now): Pick a folder on your system to play the part of the Poser program folder (DAZ|Studio uses a Content folder in its own application folder, but you can choose another location) and a dummy folder. Unzip to the dummy folder with "use paths" enabled, and find the Runtime folder created there (it may be nested inside other folders, which is why I suggest going to a dummy folder first) - copy it across to your Poser-standin folder (eg DAZ StudioContentRuntime). Empty the dummy folder and repeat for the next item. In DAZ|Studio go to Edit>Preferences, pick the Directories tab, pick the Poser Content Directories item for the drop-down list, then click the Add button and use the tree-style dialogue to select the Poser stand-in folder (the one that contains the Runtime folder). In the Content palette, click the menu arrow at top right and pick View folders as tree - you should have an entry for you new folder, with sub-categories for the items you've installed. I find that typing the numbers directly on the sliders makes locating lights and objects fast and easy, I never used Poser so I don't know if that is easier or harder, so far I have been very happy with D|S. Casey, the Old Newbie
