The hi-res figure was a reworked version of the standard poser figure with an increased polygon count (if I remember correctly.) Mobius' web site can be contacted here. Paul
Thread: help with general concept combining multi figures NEWBIE | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can actually save two figures in a CR2 file. What you do is combine your figures as detailed above. Then open a character library where you want your combined figure to go and click on the "+" to add the figure. What this does is build a CR2 with the currently selected figure in it and an RSR with the image of the combined figure. Now, save your combined figure as a PZ3 as normal. Now comes the really complicated bit..... Move your PZ3 file to the same directory as you saved the figure to. (So, if you added the figure to the library New Figures, move the PZ3 file to ...Runtime/Characters/New Figures). Delete the CR2 file and change the PZ3 extension on your file to CR2. Ta-Daaaaa Now, when you click on the figure in the library, you'll get both figures, joined together, exactly as you saved them. Hope this helps (and makes sense - if not, just let me know) Paul

Thread: Poser questions again | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've never pushed an animation beyond about 800 frames, bearing in mind the 999 frame limit in the manual. However, it's good to know you can push it beyond that if you need to - even if it does choke your PC :) Paul

Pan Yes, it's true - this site has been taken over by DSI, and will be undergoing a major overhaul - and we're all glad to see you :) I've got that issue of CA, and I've done the self-same picture (almost) and I think your 100% right about the magazine. Paul

Very impressive, and I like that sky. What we locally refer to as "goin' black over Bill's mother's" :-) Paul
Thread: I would like your opinion on a realism pic | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That is very very close. I can't see anything wrong with it that Jack, Jeff, and Anthony haven't mentioned - very fine work indeed! Paul
Thread: whoever made this picture, this is for you | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
WOW, that rocks. Where did this picture come from? I've not seen this before so maybe it's not intended to be a Poser figure. (Although that would be a great shame) Paul
Thread: Several Questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, from the top #1: If you wanted to do just basic figures with no animation then yes, P1 or P2 would do - provided you didn't mind your figures looking like refugees from a very bad zombie movie. Poser 3 is the very very least you should consider. #2: That depends. If you want the latest, shiney versions of the software (Poser 4, Bryce 4) then you'll have to buy them seperately. If you are willing to go with Poser 3/Bryce 3D (and there's nothing wrong with those programmes) then buy the package. Just remember, you will not be able to use any of the P4 morphs from Traveler's site, or any of the newer texture maps, any conforming clothes, or any transparancy mapping in P3. #3: Creating "look-a-likes" is possible in Poser, although it's quite a long drawn out process to get an exact likeness. And yes, you can animate them. (I'd love to see some animated wrestling moves and some of the WWF characters). #4: Now this is strictly a matter of personal preference. For morphs, you cannot go wrong with anything of Traveler's. There are a number of very good female textures available off of the free stuff pages, and there are now some very good male textures under way. #5: At the moment, speech synchronisation is difficult, but possible. There are at least a couple of programmes (which are yet to be released) which aim to make this much easier. Hope this all helps Paul

There is a motorcycle helmet at Greylight Internet (in the headgear section) which might be usable. Paul

Very nice work Jack. (And yes, I think you could post both of those figures) Paul Gotta get me that hot tub today

There is also an OpenGL viewer that comes with (IMHO) the best conversion programme around - 3DWIN. The link is on the right Paul

The method that Nance gave works fine, I use it all the time. Just click the little box Texture changes apply to whole figure and then change your colour to white. Voila! Paul
