The function was not intended to be useful, and meets that goal well. There is very little you can do but make meshs sprout triangles. I haven't found an application for this yet.
Thread: I'm getting a bit tired of the Poser galleries.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmmm...pretty in depth arguments considering we're just talking about computer pictures of naked women. I'm afraid I'm in the "is it really worth all this discussion?" category...but I like Turtle's Fairy! I'm going to have to make me a few of those!

Heh...what I see as a problem, herr67 sees as an opportunity.
If I find out, I'll post it.

Many people make animation files. Most people can't afford to pay for the online storage to make them available to the public (a 320X240 .avi that's 10 seconds long can be in the megabytes range).
Thread: quick tailor question... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have also used Tailor and gotten very good results. However, it will shift clothing exactly to match body morphs. This is very good because it helps ensure that clothes follow body movements of morphed figures closely. This is bad if your morph is odd-shaped (i.e. expands one section of polys and shrinks another) because Tailor will follow this exactly. This can cause warping of textures on clothes, and strange wrinkles to appear.
It also doesn't work on all clothing. For Victoria's Basics, for example, it worked wonderful on everything I tried (which wasn't all of them) but the Tshirt. The Tshirt was a disaster. It also did very strange things to BillyT's LeatherLaceupWear.
But when it works, it's damn impressive.
I've even (don't tell anybody this) transfered Victoria morphs to the VinaD mesh and to Stephanie, and Steph morphs to Victoria. For the VinaD mesh, it worked poorly on the hi-res mesh, but worked acceptably (but far from perfect) on the low-res mesh. This implies it works better when the poly densities between the meshes are approximately the same.

Thread: Tailor 1.1 use with Poser5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I tried loading the P5 version of the Victoria model into Poser 4. Luckily I have two computers, and loaded Poser5 on the 2nd so I still had Poser 4 available. The load seemed to take much longer than typical, but it did load. I then saved it, and was able to get Tailor to work. I'll just have to keep a Poser4 version of the CR2 around to allow for Tailor to work. It's a pain however because if I decide to tweak the model in P5, I'll have to recreated the CR2 in P4 before I can use Tailor on it again. I haven't tried this on the Judy model, but since I prefer Vickie anyway, this method works for me. I did send a mail to CodeTwister (the author of the tool), but haven't received a reply yet.
Thread: Can't get Poser 5 hair from Library to work right. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser 5 comes with two type of wigs; polygonal (3d objects in the shape of hair that use trans maps for realism) and dynamic hair props. When loaded, they are supposed to "parent" to the head automatically, but depending on what modifications you've made to your model, they may not sit properly on the head. I'm assuming you are using a Dynamic hair prop. To ensure it is positioned correctly, you need to make the skullcap (on which the hair grows) visible. You do this in the material room. Select the skullcap prop, and in the material window, select the skullcap group from the dropdown. Then set the Transparency setting to 0. The skullcap will be visible. Use the X,Y,Z trans to position it proper on the head (as close as possible without skin showing through). No other settings should be required for it to render properly. Your description implies that you did not render the image (from titlebar menu: Render->Render).
Thread: Collision Detction with Poser5 hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No, I can't get Collision Detection to work satisfactorily. I get the same result as you. I've tried tweaking dials; different result, same look. Longer hair with no kinks seems to work better, but the collision distance seems large in some cases (hair floats an inch or so above skin). The dynamics seem to work well as long as you don't use collision; it's when collision is thrown in that things get freaky. Probably the way it's calculated, seems to be from the root down. Hair "piles up" on the shoulders when it should flow down to the front or back. I've had some experience with the "Shave&aHaircut" package, and the use of IK chains in the hair, and the look is much more natural.
Thread: How to create a MOR-File? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A MOR file typically only contains parameter dial settings, not the object mesh. Morphs are distributed in one of two ways: 1) embedded in a CR2 file. This requires MorphManager or similar program to move the morph into a new figure 2) as .obj file which are imported via the Object menu.
Thread: Collision Detction with Poser5 hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, I suspect that's what I was missing; you have to set the "Collision" flag of every group that is involved in collision detection (as well as set all those other flags). Let me get back to trying this and see if I can get it.

Great as always! Although I have to admit a feeling of being overexposed just looking at it...:-)
Thread: BVH-Files for Poser ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One last thing that I have done although it is somewhat time consuming. I've done a Google search for 'motion capture bvh', and after waiding through a few hundred links, was able to find a fairly large number of scattered demo BVH's from a number of companies and universities. I also played around with the search criteria to dig up a few more. Since some of them state 'do not distribute', I haven't put them up anywhere.
Thread: Victoria 2 Clothing Morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What you're describing sounds as if you select the clothing from menu, click on "Create new figure" and after a few seconds, it looks as if it worked, it shows up in the drop down menu, but nothing shows in the pose window. If this is what is happening to you, then when I've seen this, it means that the *.cr2 file cannot find the matching *.obj file for it. Typically means the *.obj was installed in the wrong subdirectory in the 'Geometries' directory.
