you have to have the obj in the proper directory. if it is a character in your library - go to the folder where the character is stored [in library folder] - open the cr2 file and you will see a line saying runtime:geometries:foldername:object.obj Verify that it is in the proper obj folder [foldername]. If it is - could be that the obj has been corrupted. Change the CR2 to point to a different foldername: in Geometries then make the new directory in runtime:geometries and reinstall (from downloaded file). If you can then install the figure - would make a big guess that your hard drive needs work. Otherwise, really doesn't make any sense. Hope this helps Good Luck

Thread: Poser 5 Hair weirdness | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ohhh, SAXON, that is the most beautiful usage of the Hair that I have seen! Wonderful animation and thanx for the tip of removing the Head as a collision Item - that may have just fixed one of my problems!

Thread: Floating a Poser/Flash project idea | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
am currently working on training cd that incorporates movement, talking, equipment training; using P4 for posing, P5 firefly for rendering Production and pumped into flash by using png files cropped by jasc animation program. So it is possible and files can be made very small in flash if you make sure you get rid of non necessary movements and non moving parts are static and not included in every frame of animation. Would volunteer to help but unfortunately, my timeline for this project ends at the same time yours does and already working way 2 many hours! Good luck and it can be done!
Thread: Did You Flunk the Pbooost Compatability Test on XP Home? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
have xppro dual boot with 98se on seperate disks and Pboost says it failed (probably due to fat32 on all disks) but since I had a new dedicated xppro; figured I would buy it anyway and run over network to control P4library.... Then I forgot what I was going to do (run thru lan) and installed it on my dualboot system and it worked (now dont have to fight wireless lan time). PPP is loaded on fat32 with xppro and not on the win98se boot disk - if that makes a difference?..? Of course when I boot 98se - pboost doesnt load but it wasn't installed for that.
Thread: ? about animations with Poser 5 & bucket size (part 2) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have been doing 400x415 with 16bucket, 4 raytrace (6 will kill even the newest highest mem system (24hours for 450frames!)) production firefly/raytraceon/noshadows and exporting as PNG - then I bring it into Jasc Animation Shop 3 (import full series of the pngs), crop, and then you can save as you want(avi, gif, seperate images, etc.). I need it for sprites (which is why I set the anti-alias to 1) for flashmx so export cropped frames from Animation Shop as png (keeps the transparent background information) then import to new symbol at flashmx. Do have to admit though that my win98/amd 650 laptop took around 24hours to render a 300 or so frame with same settings. Maybe XpPro does make a difference? or does intel?
Thread: People who create tutorials should PLEASE | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I applaud you folks also... big time Thank You tutorial folks and those who help with specifics in this chat room. Just reading some of the threads where folks help others has given me answers and ideas of what can be done. You have taken a programmer and allowed her to become "artistic" and that is a big 'un! Big time thanks to you all

Thread: How do i put a zip file on an HTML page? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you are using a plain old editor (like notepad) have the line look like this: href="filename.zip" The browsers are smart and know that if someone clicks on a zip or exe file that it should prompt to download. Makes it easy as then you only have to have the hyperlink. If someone has a problem - tell them to rightclick (in windows - don't know mac) and do "Save Target As". Good Luck

Thread: Help - Seem 2 be a Hierarchy Dummy! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, as an update: I renamed with no cap in first letters, put my extensionHydraulic into extendHydraulic and made all items that I needed to control xyz trans wise into 1 position. This worked - phi created the file and poser Hierarchy read it fine. Pain in the butt to rotate but if I select each part - rotate and save as full body morph - Seems to work. Thank you all for your help. Another stage of learning poser (been using it since version 1) has been accessed! ;-)
Thread: Poser Runtimes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes you can but as with a Lan Runtime - if you open P5 and it doesnt find the CD or the Lan Disk - It will forget that you had that runtime there (if you have remember last, anyway in preference) and next time it opens - you will have to re-add the runtime. I have a very fast lan connection and basically just me running 3 machines with 100m and it is a dog to open my PPP runtime on my old machine. I got the pboost program and it is a lot faster and doesnt eat tons of my memory to grab the PPP files over my lan.

Thread: Poser into Photoshop - Transparency Troubles | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you are using Poser5 - suggest using PNG format - and using background color as that is how I create my animation characters into sprites for FlashMX and DirectorMX... Png format was only one that was happy in creating sprites with no background (not photoshop). If I need to take it to Illustrator - I use the middle man Image Ready. Then I can cut out the background in Illustrator. The PNG format also works (transparent wise) with Jasc PaintshopPro and the Animator program that comes with it.
