There are few other things to try that has worked for me in the past.
Sliding the glossy under specular upto 100%.
Adjust the ambient slider. If the color for the ambient is dark set it to a lighter color and vice versa and then adjust the slider. It varies on what you achieve depending on the other surface settings on that item.
Lighting can also be the culprit. Depending on the light you use, look in the parameters tab and switch the lighting shadow type. Depending on what type of light it is some lights have more shadow types you can use.
As someone else mentioned switching to matte helps. I also use the skin lighting instead of matte from time to time.
Thread: G2F... do you use her much? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I have and use V4, Genesis 1, and Genesis 2 Female. I did buy the V4 uvs and skin converter for G2F and all the textures I have tried on G2F work really really well. I haven't noticed an issue.
I have noticed that I am using G2F alot more than I had expected when she first came out. I was worried about having to buy a whole new set of everything when I had invested in so much in V4 and Genesis. But the way she is set up I can use just about everything in my library on her. I even bought the Genesis 2 Female clone for Genesis so that I can have that much more versatility in my library.
G2F series does seem to render much better straight out of the box in my opinion but that's just an opinion. Maybe it is something to do with better Vendor textures that are being released - I'm not sure. But I like her.

I was coming to the forums to ask about this. I had noticed this in the last several days. I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Depending on what problem you are having with the clothing it could be a number of things.
If it's the clothes that came with Daz4 and you are loading that into the scene with the Genesis figure (that came with Daz4) make sure you have Genesis selected in the scene before loading the clothes. If Genesis isn't selected and you load clothing once you move Genesis the clothing item probably won't follow it's movements. If you discover this to be the problem you can select the clothing item in the preview pane, right click and select fit to and from the drop down menu select Genesis.
If it's a clothing item for a generation 4 figure (that doesn't come with Daz 4 but you bought it) Genesis has to be selected and once the clothing item starts to load the auto fit pop up should come up and ask you who was the clothing item originally made for. You will have to know if it was for Michael 4, Victoria 4, The kids 4 and so on. Once you figure out who the clothes were for you select what type of clothing item it is. The conversion from a gen 4 person to Genesis takes a few moments.
To change textures of a clothing item (if this is the problem), the clothing item has to be selected in the preview pane, then you find the folder for the different textures in smart content or content library. The textures should apply with no problem if they are selected.
