I use Win ME German and poser 5 without real problems. However, there is a issue with the decimal format. Some controls display numbers in German format (with decimal comma) but need input in US Fromat (with decimal point). stefan

This look like double sided polygons. P5 does not like that. The work around: Apply the texture as a displacment map with a very low displacment strength (e.g. 0.0001). Stefan

To get a higher resulution you should use 'render to new window ' in the render options. In the 'save image' dialog be sure to chose the TIF fromat. At default, poser has there JPG at a very bad quality. Stefan

In the parameter palette click on the triangle in the upper right corner. In the menue that opens, select 'new group'. Now drag and drop the dails into the group. It makes the millenium figures so much more user friendly. Stefan

Very nice render. Love the clothing material. By the way: Dail grouping works on Viktoria 3 and Mike for me. Of course I had to group them my self, becouse the are bouild for P4. Stefan

Thread: Which is better Poser PP or Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For me Poser 5 is about as fast as P4 for the same functionalty. I don't notice any slowdown in the Interface. And I can actualy work a little bit faster because of the somwhat better interface. The P5 renderer is much slower than the P4 renderer, but also much better. And the P4 renderer is still included in P5. Stefan

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to set up figures for rendering in other applications, use PP. The integration with other apps is non existent in P5. If you mainly use products as is, the PP may be better, because most products don't use the P5 specific things (yet) and may be optimized for P4. On the other hand, if you render manly in Poser and like to fiddle with things, P5 is much better IMHO. The material room alone is worth the update (materials options are very limited in PP). I spend most of my poser time playing in this room, it is so much fun and makes such of a difference in the render. I really like P5 hair because it enables me to create unique hairstyles in poser. It is true that the dynamics are bugy, but they are needed mainly for animations not for stills. I have not used the cloth room much, but from what I have seen from others, it seems to work well. Personally I found the user interface much improved from P4 (I don't own PP), but it is still basically crap. If they only had done a standard windows interface. Since I used P5, I would never get back to P4. I was able to realize pictures I could not in P4. stefan

Thank you. Please check the product pages, they are missleading. ( Or I just to blind to read it correct) Stefan

Waht you got there looks like a P4 *.bum file. It should go only to gradinet bump, not to bump. The bump chanel is for gray scales.

I have posted something similar some time ago.I have used multiply to add the second texture, because I want the tattoo to mix with the skin. If you want to overlay the texture, you have to use the blender node. Put in the skin texture in the first slot, the overly texture in the second and a mask (like a transparency map) in the third.
In most cases, it should be possible to create the mask by putting the overlay image through some combination of math nodes to get a high contrast grayscale.
Sorry, no screenshot, I am away from my own computer and will be till Friday.

If you use Poser 5 you could also try volumetric lightning. Try the caustics material in the material libary/basic materials on the light to get a cool underwater effect. Stefan
