Superb work, and a very good idea. One day I'll have to learn how to transfer morphs, so much is clear. Thanks!.

Thread: What's the Millenium Dragon? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can buy it at www.daz3D.com Except for the Millenium falcon, in Poser speak the word millenium comes from DAZ: millenium kids, millenium cat, millenium woman,...

dld. this thread for just in case... the atmosphere is indeed becoming more and more tense. Guess I'll do my buying somewhere else 'till things are back as I liked them.

Thread: ----New Future DAZ Character--The Millenium Hobbitt! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of the funniest things of today is to observe how scientists in their urge to reduce facts to the axioms of their religion become completely unscientific. Yet it is a fact that economy pays science and therefore Darwinism, being more close to capitalism, is the generally accepted theory. Thread: So the Millenium Teens are finally available! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yup. But I prefer Dodger's teens from Poserpros. Not only for the price, but also (or even more) because I prefer the way faces and bodies are sculpted. I personally find that the "classic" Milkids are more inspiring, more "beautiful" if you want. Just like I find Stephanie more attractive than V3 or SP. I see neither need not use for those new characters now as Dodger's take all the V3 morphs and mats etc. and cost only about $11 per person. IF you own V3 that is.

Thanks all! In case a problem should arise: I asked, and no one said no. So I'll tell her she can become a member so she can post (if she wants to).

Thanks. Beautiful work, but not what I am looking for. I should find the original work back, and ask the artist...

Thread: Question on Monitor Calibration. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A good first aid can be found at www.dpreview.com . It's a set of greyscales, and you should ideally see the difference between all of them. Also take into account the reflection of the room and of what you wear, the light conditions,... Ideally, you should calibrate your monitor every forthnight. The main problem with flatscreens is that when you look at the monitor and make your nck a bit longer or shorter, you get completely different contrast/lightness, and there is no way to make shure that you are looking each time under the exact same angle. So there is no conctancy. Not even on the most expensive models. Their contrast ratio is also (still) lower than a good CRT's. So you won't see the same saturated blacks or whitey whites. Should you happen to own Photshop, then you have a good calibrating app.

Thread: bum files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When you have a bum file, make a copy of it in another folder, then change the extension to bmp. Now open in PS, PSP or whatever you use. You will see that the file has some bizarre hues, hues that remind you of coloured displacement maps for use in Photoshop.

Thread: Re-building my Runtime: some questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The files in the library are the ones you see, the ones you can use directly. In case you acquired some other package, one with, say, backgrounds, or wood textures, then you can put this in the Runtime>Materials folder so that it is not too difficult to find. As for the runtimes you suggest...yes and no. It depends. In case P5 asks for a certain file, then note it, and copy it from the basic Runtime into the new one. Example: V2 upgrade came without the milwom object that came with Zygote V1. It is also best to keep the daz people files in the original runtime. You can have runtimes for people, animals, scifi, architecture, fantasy, realism,...just like you fancy. And if you ever find you have too many, you can merge them easily. It sounds great to have many runtimes, but I personally reduced the number drastically. One I find very useful is one for freestuff. Try it out, and if it is what you hoped it was, add it to the "real" one.

Thread: P5's default lighting sucks - any suggestions for best lighting set? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser 5 with firefly renderer needs other lights (less) than other rendering. The 3 lights setup (main, fill, back is often a good starting point except when you want something special. There are many free light sets available, also here at R. Try them out and try to grasp why and how a result is obtained. Then try to tweak to see how you can come closer to your ideal. Then use Save as to create your own set. Also don't forget to use the Point at option. And start with white lights.

Thread: Looking for the Fish / Reptile Girl texture for V2/V3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is/has been a reptile skin over at Daz, but I really have to be very negative about it as the seams of head vs body are very visible. I bought it, wrote Daz about my finding and after a long and rather depressing story I got a part of what I paid back as a voucher. I haven't bought anything from their site since then.

Thread: What is HDRI? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
On a monitor, nothing can be brighter that the lightest colour it can reproduce. Compared to the light of a flash, or the sun, this is nothing. Yet it is that range of light intensity that enhances objects in real life. This is why scientists developed a technique to be able to add "act-as-if" intensity to the lightness of an image so that it becomes more natural. This is called an image with a higher dynamic range, or HDRI image. These images can be used in certain software to enhance its dynamic range. Unfortunately not all software can make use of this technique.
