Thread: Bryce or Vue D'espirit | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In seeing the works from both programs, I noticed that each of them have different styles. Vue art seems to look more like a painting whereas Bryce has a different feel. Just make sure you know what kind of look you're going for in your art.

The art is very good on the site, I really enjoy looking at it. My only complaint is that of your rollovers. They take forever to load after my mouse goes over the picture. And trust me, I have a cable connection...these are going to be VERY slow on a 56k or lower. Otherwise, the art looks good. You seem to have a very unique style.

Someone may have posted it but I just skimmed through the responses. The waves remind me of a storm though, I think it would look good with a little bit of falling rain and some dark clouds. If you wanted to add more emotion, you might consider adding a person in a raincoat that is IN the boat. Just a few ideas.

I agree that the foreground kind of distracts you from the fall. I think your intention is to have the water fall be the focal point of the image. I like the current camera angle so maybe you can move the plant down and to the right. Just my thought.

Actually, tjohn, I've never even heard of Rene Margritte! I'd like to see some of his work, though. The 4:3 ratio is something that I've been wanting to try out for awhile (changing it, that is). I may just take it back into Photoshop and play with some cropping. As for the rivets, they look nice on YOUR picture, AgentSmith, but I think it would look a little funny in mine. Yours looks like it would fit in an old-time scene, but I just don't think that it would keep the feel of mine.

I noticed the same thing with the trees and I've checked...the Posette should be ON the mountain. I'm going to learn how to make custom skies soon but for now, I'll check around the presets.

I'm not too sure about what you mean by angling the camera to cut through the sphere. I probably don't know how to do it anyway either. On the shadows, how exactly would you darken them?? Also, the ground texture is a sand texture...it's actually supposed to be beach sand but the sky I chose darkened it a little. By the way, I would have liked to experiment with a New Year's theme...but I couldn't think of anything!

The problem is, the the Bryce package I got didn't come with a manual. I did get it with an academic discount, that may be why. I've looked around for boooks and I'm going to look into that Real World Bryce and see what happens. I'm ordering a subscription as well as the back issues of Renderosity magazine today, so that should keeo me busy for a while. I've been to Brycetech and Peter Sharpe's website and there are some cool looking things on there. I'm going to try more of them soon. I've been downloading models and materials for the past half-hour or so and been having fun with them. Thanks for the tips, any others from other members?
