Ok, I got both softwares at the same time. So, bare in mind that I'm novice with both of them. :) ... I have Poser 5 and Vue 4 (to be precise, Vue 4.06-02, don't know if it makes any difference though). Using in PC with Windows XP. I can't import Pz5, so tried both OBJ and 3DS. Unfortunately I don't know how to add pictures in this message box. :( so, can't actualy post an example. In the mean time, I'll go ahead and look into the FAQ section; thanks.
Thread: anyone else had this with the 4.12 patch? | Forum: Vue
I'm not an expert in Vue, but I think it's just that your patch wasn't installed properly. I have noticed that patches better off installing after disabling the anti-virus software. Since patch is not a full fledged software, while installing sometimes anti-virus starts sniffing around to make sure that the patch is not a virus. And that's when things starts to get messy! So, I would suggest if Guitta's suggestion doesn't work, uninstall your Vue, Restart, desable the AV, then install both the software and patch. good luck.

I have XP pro edition with the service pack. It's fairly stable too; little slow may be cuz I have so many programs installed in it. Comparing with new technology my pc is little old ... P4, 1.4Ghz & 512 RD ram. I think freezing up has lot to do with runtime environments and plug-ins. Maybe I have one or two of those, which is not suitable with Vue. Afterall you know, there are no such thing as "100% perfect". :)

Umm! It actually doesn't crashes, but it used to freeze up a lot in Demo. Even on the full version it freezed up several time on me. Since, I'm a new user, I'm taking MightyPete's words in consideration. Probably soon, I'll do a fresh installation of Windows, that should stop the freezing. However, the bottom line is I prefer Vue more then Bryce.

I've used Bryce for a while, now trasferred to Vue. As far as render time goes, I think Vue is little faster then Bryce. But, I didn't really compared it in that perspective. As far as ease of use goes, Vue is way better then Bryce. Even in options wise. I've been using Vue Demo for quite a while, posted some images also. Recently baught the full version and I have to say I'm happy with it so far. However, Vue has a little stability problem.
