For people who don't quite "get" what is so great about this technique is that I know traditional illustrators who have made a nice comfortable career doing "flat" type art illustration with "simple" design. The incredible photorealism that Poser can do now, which I really enjoy too, does not translate that well into saleable commercial art. The problem is that 3D has become so common in movies today that people reguard it as not like "fine art". Not knocking 3D photo-realism at all, folks. Just talking about what I know people like to buy in the Fine Art arena, where you can make some serious money!
Thread: Sketch without showing hidden lines? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Sketch feature was actually the primary reason I purchased Poser many years ago. I've had the program since it was on Windows, which was Ver 2 I think. But Ver 3 was when the real sketch stuff started showing up when they started showing those weird mechanical characters in sketch mode as a Poser promo. Those characters still come with Poser, I think. Anyway, the Sketch Render feature REALLY takes some time to learn, as the documentation on it is almost ZERO. It has taken me a few years, off and on, to really get a handle on what it does and can do. Frankly, it is a work of GENIUS in my opinion. They are some of the best art painting filters EVER! It goes back to when the Fractal Design folks were working on ideas like Painter 3D, which also was a great idea never quite completed well. Ironically, the Sketch Render feature was once considered the PRIMARY direction and use of the early Poser. Poser was meant to be a studio artist's model. That's also why you have that old goofy stick-figure guy that almost nobody ever uses. But Poser marketing folks quickly learned that NAKED BABES was the hot ticket to selling Poser, and that has become its primary market direction. Because most people have never quite understood or gotten the hang of the sketch render features, Poser 4 and P5 have NEVER corrected some of the technical problems with Sketch Renders, primarily that that can't render larger than your monitor desktop setting. However there are several tricks around that. I think I may have been the first person to inform Metacreations tech support about a work-around, which they usually passed on to those few others that actually had an interest in doing sketch renders. But the programming talent- primarily one or two people with Painter-Fractal Design, all left with the pending desolution of Metacreations, and nobody has ever picked up the ball since. Too, bad, as I still think sketch renders are awesome and could be made into at least a new powerful plug-in for... DAZ STUDIO???

Try this technique with Vicky pinups! Since yesterday after reading this tutorial I've been creating fantastic Vargas style images with models wearing fully detailed texture maps and Koz-Daz hair. Using multiple lights also works great - no more than three seems to be best. Excellent technique for 1940's pinup art and Bomber Girl Nose Art! Just incredible how this technique makes them look hand air-brushed! I've also done images with a Harley chopper freebie using Sketch Presets and it really transforms their uses. This technique really solves problems I was having before with Sketch Renders and makes the effects much more like true artwork. Can't say enough to thank SnowSultan for this brilliant idea!
Thread: Free model this week...Steamer Trunk... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Really love all the stuff you folks make. It is always exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for (except the potty chair!) Have put all the Hawaiian stuff to very good use. The steamer trunk immediately brings to mind a babe wearing Rwaller's 40's Hair and Dress with her legs crossed in a classic "Cheesecake" pose. Need to go find my 1940's press camera and Mike's fedora!

I think most people who haven't tried this new technique don't have any idea yet about OTHER illustration applications this has! I'm getting fantastic Vargas pinup illustration effects with it, plus the lighting concept totally transforms my big Sketch Render preset collection! Start playing with the light color, etc, and it is pretty amazing (but you need to have a pretty good handle on how to control all of the Sketch Render pre-sets). The fact that you can still POSE the models and add clothing, etc is MIND-BOGGLING! SnowSultan deserves huge credit for this great idea! Most people have yet to realize how this can go!

I have also been re-discovering what great ideas can be found in older 50's movies, when classic style was really in and people actually had taste! Another great source of inspiration I've found are some of the late 50's and early (pre-hippie) 60's 33 LP Covers. Going to collector websites reveals some incredible babes! Especially check out Latin Pop-Jazz LP covers. Great stuff and very Sexy! And try to find LP's with model Sandy Warner on them, like Martin Denny Exotica LP's, she was a REAL BABE!

Here's a link to Wolfies Den. These tutorials have been there for 3-4 years I think. I've used them since Vue 2 to get stuff out of Bryce 4, much of it quite successfully. Go to the website and click on "Bryce", at the TOP of the page, then down to "Tutorials" and to "Exporting". However, these do NOT support getting out Booleans, only 3D Meshes. However MOST of older Bryce models posted on the internet over the years were actually 3D Meshes, so I always got nearly everything I wanted into Vue. I believe these tutorials also show how to copy and paste into Photoshop (or whatever) the 3D mesh texture files also, which you only need to re-apply in Vue. I have virtually identical matches of each Bryce to Vue model. Give it a try until this other program hits the PC, which I too hope it does. You can never have enough 3D models and useful utilities!Thread: Looking for panther textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

The plants, trees, flowers and terrain models at DNA are really fantastic. I have spent some real $ there because these models are so incredibly good.

Paypal delays some payments for several days. It may not be a problem on the DAZ side. If you have an authenicated PayPal account with money in it, your transactions are immediate. If PayPal must verify "non-verified" funds, like e-checks, or any other unverified money source, it can take several days before the vendor is notified that the money is there and good. Unfortunately, it has been scammers who have forced PayPal and people companies like DAZ to exercise such caution. Best system for a purchaser is to have money in a verified PayPal account, and then you should not have any problems getting immediate service.

My compliments to to Posers Wizard Master! I have to say that I think the PhilC Beachwear is one of the BEST Vicky clothing items ever made. (And an incredibly good deal price-wise). It has a huge range of stylistic variations and Lululee's add-on pak gives you all the additional items you might want with it to fit anything from 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's to very modern. I suspect Phil MUST have been doing some RESEARCH in the tropics because his included Beachwear cloth patterns were very accurate and authentic too.
